Want to get house ready for marketing photos next week

Any great tips? We've rented a storage unit and have spent the last two weekends filling boxes and storing them there. Still more of that to do and some cluttery bits of furniture to go too - we're planning to move to a much bigger house so will have room there for our stuff!

The gardens are tidy - there's a bit of exterior painting to be done after a repair to the rendering.

We need to clear the garage to make it look big enough for a car.

I may get a professional clean of the kitchen floor.

Anything I might have missed? We want it ready for photos (DH will take these I think as his will better than most EA photos we've seen and has good equipment) and to stay ready for viewings I suppose, in case they start quickly.

It's a 3 bed semi, by the way.

Declutter.

Dress with pot plants, flowers, cushions etc

Nothing out in the bathroom

Keep all lights on.

Have a look at houses on Rightmove that have good photos and see what they do.

Try to take the pictures on a sunny day!

I always like to see a cat asleep on the back of a sofa

I'll bribe the cat to sit still then! I always find it funny on right move when you can see full bins and messy bathroom stuff out, so we'll avoid that!

More clearing done today. In our bid to declutter, we look a bit empty and hotel-ish in places. With a 2 and 5 year old we've kind of neglected our own things for a while, so although we have a lovely kitchen and bathroom (new last year), most of our house is a bit dull (apart from kids toys).

We don't want to buy new stuff for the sake of it (mirrors, pictures etc) so would lots of pot plants in nice pots do, as we'd want them in the new house anyway?

I'm going to buy new bedding tomorrow, and maybe some cushions. It's not that our house is disgusting, but we've realised we've definitely let adult stuff bypass us for a while. If viewers have, or plan, children, our kids' room and nursery look lovely!
