What colour of floor with cream/white kitchen units and black worktop?

Am really stuck about what to go for.

People say don't go for wood so oak colour is out, black feels to dark, cream might clash with units so I don't know what else there is?!

I have a cream kitchen and black worktop. It's a true cream colour rather than off white cream which I have found hard to compliment.

Our floor is dark brown oak colour. It's laminate which I know on Mn is probably frowned upon, but it's been very good. Certainly the colour works.

Slate tiles? We had a similar sounding kitchen to yours and it had darkish grey slate tiles, looked nice (installed by previous owner so not bigging up my own marvellous taste!!)

We have a light wood floor - again previous owner so can't take any credit

Bamboo? Not to string a colour. Sustainable (good Eco brownie points) and cheap. I did that with baby blue walls. Lovely.

Scuse the typos. This wine at lunch thing is bloody brilliant but does have consequences.

Oh and igit the daft people who say don't go for wood. It works. Simple.

We have cream units, black worktops and engineered oak flooring. It looks fine so I'm not sure why you've ruled out wood.

I'm just about to have white units, very dark grey quartz work surface and an engineered wooden floor.
Haven't chosen the colour yet!

And probably having duck egg blue glass splash backs.
