Ex council house or house on a main road?

That seems to be what we can afford. Which would be better? I am worried about build quality with an ex council property - recently our local council demolished a whole estate and rebuilt as they said it would be cheaper than repairing the leaking roofs and damp walls.

Just to second what everyone else says about not being able to judge regarding ex-council properties.

I know a family who live in an ex-council house built to Parker Morris standards back in the day when council housing was for everyone, and not stigmatised as for the poor. It is, quite simply, one of the best designed and constructed houses I have ever seen.
