I'm genuinely not going to start an argument, I'd just like some advice roneik I'm about to rent out my house ( still mortgaged on repayment all legit etc). I'm keeping this for my pension. I'm a nurse and the pensions arnt what they used to be. What else can I do to save for my future? Genuinely interested in what options I have?

doziedoozie · 12/10/2014 19:50

The article is about accidental landlords eg people who inherit property and find they can't sell it. Not sure what they can do to stop that, nowt probably.

HaveToWearHeels · 12/10/2014 19:51

I wish there was a "like" button here Greencheese

roneik · 12/10/2014 19:52

I am not against somebody renting out a property, it's the industrial scale that some landlords are doing it at, that is what is doing the damage .

I rented when I was a young man for a while. Rents were fair , but now because of the madness rents covering high purchase prices have sent it all out of kilter. Greed has been the main issue, all the wrong types are exploiting people . I could go on forever as I have first hand knowledge of the damage it's doing.

There are good and bad landlords , but much more regulation and taxation is needed to turn the beast around.

So you agree I'm doing the right thing then? There's not a lot of other options are there. People are just trying to get by in life. Maybe I'm not so bad after all, even for a landlord, go on, admit it, dare you Grin

roneik · 12/10/2014 19:59

Anyway I have to go now as my mission is over for now and talking to wuffians is giving me migraine Grin

OP, I'm hoping that you put as much passion as you show here into doing something that's actually useful. You know, fighting crime, community work, volunteer work, getting involved in politics instead of moaning about it to people who don't agree with you

seems like your endless blathering would be well suited to politics and you do seem to have a lot of time on your hands

roneik · 12/10/2014 20:00

Greencheese OK you are the tops and sorry if I upset a charming landlady
