I keep reading that houses are being snapped up so maybe my expectations were too high.

So it went on the market on 7th June. The agents have taken 3 people round, the first wanted to do too much work (extending kitchen) for it to be affordable, the second is new to the area and wants to explore a bit more first, the second didn't respond to the agent's voicemail asking for feedback.

So yesterday we dropped the price by £100k and according to Zoopla the number of page views is still dropping.

Am I being too impatient or should I be panicking? We can afford to drop another £75k but no more.

Charley, no break clause. a lot of pple have said it goes quiet in July/aug then perks up again in September so will work the timings of changing agents around that.

Thanks Dooble

How tedious. I like to see as many pics as possible before deciding if it's worth my time (and the vendor/EA's) before viewing. Can they add a few more into the online brochure?

The front looks lovely.

It must be a pain waiting for the right person, but so many people are thinking about holidays at the moment, I agree with the others, you just need to sit tight and wait for the influx of September viewers :)

mumble it looks fantastic. The photo of the front with the new drive really updates the look of the property and opens it out and it also gives the message that this is a very well cared for home.

I think it does go quiet in the summer and even events like Wimbledon, The World Cup, school exams etc. etc. on top of the holiday period, can make a difference to people making themselves available for viewings

I can't remember, did I suggest before that you get your house its own Twitter account? You'd only have to put a photo for the profile and Tweet a link to the online advert with the #Marlow hashtag and you just never know your luck.

mumblechum1 · 02/07/2014 20:05

Thanks Hen, I'll figure out how to join Twitter :-)

If you do it and want to let me know mumble, I will happily retweet it to you and I have a couple of property search agents who follow me. They're North West London based and you never know what connections they might pass it on to.

I didn't think you needed to paint the house and do the drive ...but it really does make a huge difference. It's a lovely house.

HenI5 · 02/07/2014 21:02

I will Smile
but first, go to your profile on 'Me' and on the right hand side you should see 'Edit Profile'

On there you can upload a couple of photos, one to replace the Egg which is your avatar (the egg comes before the Twitter bird hatches) so choose a small picture of your house, maybe the front view? and you can also change your 'Header' if I were you I'd choose the nice rear garden picture, but your call.

People tend not to pay too much attention to Egg accounts because they can be spammers. If you have good photos you'll attract more attention.

Hope that helps :)

mumblechum1 · 02/07/2014 21:44

Thanks. I'll do that tomorrow as the photos the EA have sent are all in batches, can't do them separately so will take a couple myself tomorrow and upload them to Twitter .

I'll look out for it.
You might also want to think about the name of your account - the part before the @chiltern etc. - Maybe call it Home For Sale or something?
