Neighbours have artificial grass, now our garden floods! What to do?

Our neighbours had artificial grass installed (?) in the early spring. Since then our garden appears to be getting the run off and is flooding. After heavy rain the flower bed on their side has standing water and the grass squelches.

What do we do? Confused

I have no idea whether to say anything, or just suck it up and plant things that like boggy conditions?

Help!

They would be forced to deal with the problem then

I would do what three inch ferrari says - build a raised bed in the affected area to stop the water flooding into your garden.

Can you ring the company that installed the stuff also?

Did they put it over concrete? Guy on the radio a few weeks ago was saying that in areas prone to moles etc some people lay concrete first and then put the artificial grass on top.

Thanks all!

Going to try speaking to environmental health (?) dept next week - the people who deal with nuisance stuff anyhow.

Don't think we could build a raised bed as their fake grass is level with the top of the gravel boards of the fence. Our garden is level with te bottom of the gravel board - which is where I think their layers of stuff ends. Any water would run through/ under the raised bed and still soak into our garden I think.

I'm going back to see neighbours next time they're in - they've ha a couple of weeks to investigate.

I'm also taking photos with a tape measure stuck in various pools of water and emailing them to myself as 'evidence' of what happened and when. Blush

It wasn't laid over concrete a they dug up al their turf and a bit more besides and then put down some sort of rubble type stuff and a sheet and grass (maybe other stuff as I wasn't paying attention.)

I feel really anxious when it rains heavily now! Confused

When I talk to neighbours I'm going to find name of company and call them too (if neighbours haven't already!)

That's a weird spammy sounding post ? Do you work for the fake flower company?

Exact same thing has happened to us. Firstly neighbour on left did it and lawn and border on that side easily waterlogged, then this summer, neighbour on right did it and now our full back garden totally waterlogged!! Not happy!
