So . . . I'm looking at houses for my parents to move into. They are selling a house they've been in for donkeys years, they want something a bit more manageable with a nice garden.

I've seen this place in Cheltenham

It looks ok to me apart from it being dated. Supposing it's structurally sound whaddya reckone they should budget for new kitchen/carpets/decorating.

They'd have to pay someone to do it and I guess a cheapish kitchen/bathroom would be what they are after so no 50,000 luxe fittings. But a general ball park figure . . . ?

This could be a lovely house in Pittville

Too many stairs, too pricey, too much work needed, no garden. BUT apart from that it's a pretty house.

Cuthbert, thanks for that link - I had looked at that house quite a lot on line, but the rooms all look so tiny. . . . it's so hard to find something suitable and they seem to move so quickly once they are on the market if they're any good.

He was briefly on Corrie as a cross-dresser. It didn't end well.

OP - is that a huge crack in the chimney breast in the dining room (the pic with the plug-in radiator) - on the right hand side as you look at it

Oh really Pinkje? How so? I know it's awfully non-pc but cross dressers creep me out a bit (apols to any cross dressers reading) so I'm glad I missed it. I can retain the memory of his long legs stretched out under Rias kitchen table . . . .

BMW6 yep, looks like it doesn't it. Or maybe just peeling wallpaper . . . .

Mrsladybirdface thanks for the link - I'd seen that one too and discarded it as having too small a garden.

GAHHHHHH bloody fussy parents.
