If you have french doors and don't have vertical blinds, what do you have?

I have french doors off lounge onto garden deck. There are windows either side to about 5/8ths down the doors and similar windows at either side perpendicular. Box/Bay type formation, quite wide about 8 feet. Currently have verticals on all the windows and silk panels curtains hanging loose.

I hate the blinds, do you have anything more exciting? North facing and quite dark so don't fancy wood although the rest of the house has wooden venetian blinds. Upstairs not as dark and blinds are white in DCs rooms so looks much lighter.

Room pretty neutral no stand out feature points.

I have 'perfect fit' blinds in my french doors. They fit into the window frame so when open don't notice there are blinds. I'm really pleased with them as was struggling to find something I liked.

In kitchen/diner we have nothing, no need. in living room we have full length curtains which are beautiful, so cosy in winter and pretty in summer when we hardly ever close them as like to see outside (and don't go to bed that late!)

Same as mostly, we have perfect fit blinds fitted by a local blind company.

The french doors from my lounge are part of a bay so I have a window either side of the french doors, like you and a then a window at a 90 degree angle to the side, so 4 windows in total. It is also north facing but we do get the sun in the afternoon beaming in.

We went with cream blinds so that when the sun shines in we can pull a blind without losing light.

The bay itself is a big 2m wide thing so we have dress curtains ie we don't close them. If we closed them it would cut the bay off from the lounge.

We wanted something that wouldn't blow in the wind when we had the doors open. Also my house sounds like yours, we have white wooden venetian blinds in other rooms!

I looked at the Perfect fit ones but I don't think they'd work the doors have a bevelled inner edge.

I need something as garden backs onto neighbours drive and side garden so feel exposed.

Perfect fit blinds are great, doesn't matter about bevelled inner they will still fit.

what about a muslin, voile style curtain. Our bedroom is quite exposed and we have a double curtain rail with long curtains and then a voile behind which we can keep closed.

We have pleated blinds in perfect fit frames and I bloody love them. Not cheap but fabulous

Jbck depends what you want, the first two we had we got a local blind company out and he measured and fitted but they were £120 per panel. I watched him and ordered the 4 for our bedroom for £60 per panel. They are really simple to fit but you need to get the measuring right but there are plenty of videos online, the important thing in to remember the handle, if in doubt take a couple mm off the width. Oh and if you go for perfect fit pleated blinds how about fitting them upside down, that way you can full them up from the bottom and sill have light coming in at the top.
