Bought two fab very dark brown leather sofas yesterday . will completely redecorate the room around them.
Very old house, high ceiling, open fire with black granite fire surround.

Suggestions please for carpet colour / wallpaper / wall colour.
Thanks!

I've got brown leather sofa - a battered old one and room is painted James White (F&B)

Also have very shaggy cream rug on floor. Got some olive coloured cushions too as green shades look nice with brown

Teal looks lovely with dark brown. If it's cool room (north facing), I would go easy on the colour as it might be a bit cold. Odd accents of it with a warm cream would be lovely.

I have dark brown leather sofas. White walls, oak floor. Large rug and cushions for colour - cream / red.

I've got dark brown leather sofas, cream walls, light brown carpet and sort of golden curtains with red swirls.

I am tempted to change my colour scheme a bit by adding green curtains.

Rich cream with purple accents.

I was also going to say keep it neutral with teal accents.

BillyBanter · 03/02/2014 02:05

Not black or grey. Not royal or denim blues in my opinion. Other than that pretty much anything.

I have a north facing room with brown leather sofas, deep red walls, teal accents

Dark brown leather sofas here with white walls, cream and black flower curtains and leaf green highlights. We used to have a dark red theme with them but it was too dark for our east facing room.

Stick to neutral walls with them and it's really easy to change the whole look.

One dark brown leather sofa and Poang chair plus a big cream fabric sofa here. We have a cream speckled carpet, cream curtains and Muddy Puddle and Nutmeg white on the walls. Green accents (cushions, vases pics etc). South facing room with huge window. Thinking of doing red accents next winter for a change.

We have an east facing living room with French Grey (a muted greeny-grey) and wooden floors. Off white lampshades and a light stone coloured mantle piece to provide some light. Green curtains that tone with the paint. White picture frames on the walls. I love it!
