Slate effect tiles in the bathroom too dark / restrictive of rest of decor?

I am thinking about using these on the floor of my main bathroom. I like them (they would hide dirt well Blush) and would have a pale grey tile on the walls but I am a little bit worried that they are very dark and cold looking for a bathroom. Also might be difficult to change the decor very much as so few colours would complement them. Any thoughts on using them or better still would love to hear from anyone who has them in their house. Thanks Thanks

We have similar. We have pale brown walls; a warm shade that's not so yellow as a beige. We've only tiled around the bath and above fitted units so that's white like the suite.

We have a flooring similar and large grey tiles on the walls. One wall has a mirror along the length of the wall at about 4.5foot up to ceiling height to increase illusion of light and space (we have a window as well). The dark décor is balanced by the stark white bathroom suite and vanity unit. I have accessorised with purple towels etc but a bright and vibrant colour would work well. Personally I love our bathroom.

We have some similar in one of our bathrooms - chosen by previous owner, and not something I'd have considered, but pared with white tiles, white sanitary ware, it looks really good as a neutral/ timeless base. I'll probably replicate when we redo the other bathroom.

Oooh thanks I didn't expect so many +ve responses. From your replies if I pair with grey or white it would work. I am very tempted to go with them....will let you know.

We have dark slate on our bathroom window sill, vanity (!) shelf and shelf around bath. Doesn't look dark at all as rest of bathroom is v white. Lots of colours go with it - pale pink (my favourite), orange, lilac, red, grey. Also dark floors look effective with all the white in bathrooms. Go for it!
