My gas oven doesn't work but gas hob is fine.

i love baking so i am missing my gas cooker. It is just a few weeks out of guarantee.

Basically, I cant light the gas oven as there is no gas coming through. I tried lighting it with a match but as there is no gas it doesn't work.

However, the gas hobs are working fine. I have had a look inside the oven but can't see anything.

Any ideas on how to fix as I cant afford £150 to repair it. I am hoping it is a part and it can be swapped, but no idea what to look for!

Sounds stupid but is the clock on the cooker 'set' or is it flashing 12:00??

We thought ours was broken. Had weeks of hob only and grill cooking until someone mentioned the clock. Fixed it straight away.

We felt like idiots. Still do in fact!

yes, setting the clock is the most usual cause. The second most usual cause is having the oven set to "timer" not "manual"

otherwise it might be the flame failure device, which needs a serviceman. There is a faint chance that grease or food might have been spilt inside the oven.

There isnt a clock or timer on the cooker.

Will try cleaning it, because the pilot light is in front of the oven as a hole so it is easy for things to drop in.

Ours was blocked by gunge (from previous owners) compounded by oven cleaner on top. For good measure we had the timer on too. It's a small miracle we didn't blow up the house

For what it's worth, the repair guy couldn't supply parts (other issues) as the oven was so old so he gave us vouchers to the value of the call-out for a new oven or other appliance with the manufacturer. Might be worth asking.

Hi ladies and gentlemen my gas cooker isn't working I have tried cleaning it and there is no clock on the front so not timer set any ideas on what it could be no gas coming though either
