Are there any good interior design/decorating bloggers (real people rather than interior designer types)

Looking for real life inspiration using real easily accessible stuff, you know ikea, m&s, bhs, matalan, zara home etc.

I've hunted, found loads of American ones and super trend professional ones :/

Thank you!

Don't know of any blogs, but have you tried Pinterest? I've found sometimes it can give pretty good results when searching things like "wall decoration" etc.

Karbea · 07/11/2013 20:25

Yes I love Pinterest but the pics do still tend to be designery.

Ah, they can be. Hope someone comes by with a good suggestion.

2 American, 1 English but all down to earth!

Hi ! It's tricky to offer a one stop place for all ideas - some good sites are USA based - so don't use our fab local suppliers - you can find inspiration by looking at some of the photos. On some sites you can do specific searches ie on Houzz.com you can then adapt the ideas to utilise what's available locally to you .
There's also a 'design dilemma' section on Houzz, where you can post your dilemma and everyday people and design pros will offer help and guidance. It's free to use - very occasionally there's a few odd or not so nice comments - but mostly it's all helpful stuff !

A good designer will see opportunity for adaptation of many everyday or unique things in order to address your needs in lots of ways - not all Designers are just about selling you stuff ( obviously some are ! ) But some work independently and encourage you to be part of the design process and are happy to bounce ideas about until the area / room/ building is just right !

What, specifically, are you trying to achieve ?! Maybe I can offer a more specific answer ?!

Karbea · 09/11/2013 10:43

Nothing specific really just after something nice to read that relevant.

I do have a question though, but I'll post that separately. Thank you!

I like myfriendshouse.co.uk. Not every post is something you could translate to your own house, but there are lots of ideas.

Gusthetheatrecat · 27/05/2015 09:35

I blog at www.cornerbycorner.co.uk about family-friendly home improvements. Not as often as I'd like, but lots of focus on doing little bits that are wallet and time friendly.
I also like www.tidyawaytoday.co.uk, and Little House on the Corner, Little Birdie and Tales from a Happy House (the last two are some interiors stuff, with some other stuff thrown in).
