Would you buy a house opposite a primary school?

Saw this lovely house which is opposite a primary school and which hopefully my two kids will be going to in a few years time.

Does anyone live opposite a school? What is it like at school times?

no, the roads around my local school are grid locked. With several local schools going to 4 form entry, I can only see it getting worse........

We live about 50 yards from our school and it's great. We do have our own drive though, so no issue parking. It's hectic for 15mins twice z day , but not a weekends and school hols. It's very handy being so close to school for pick ups etc and v handy time be able to nip home quickly when we've forgotten something.
It's slab very sociable as people are always popping nn or coming back for a cuppa.

No regrets here.

I used to live opposite a primary school. Parking could get a bit hairy at pick-up and drop-off but, as others have said, it was fine for 23.5 hours a day and during all the holidays. The school was generally a good neighbour - quiet in the evenings, the high Victorian windows meant we weren't overlooked, there was the nice sound of children playing at break times and less pleasant sound of lunatic teacher screaming at them occasionally and completely empty at weekends and for 13 weeks of holidays. It wouldn't put me off, especially if it was a good one I was hoping that my children would attend.

Thank you so much everyone! Your comments have been very helpful. In the end we didn't put an offer on the house. We have decided to keep looking. Hopefully something better will come along. Best wishes to you all Smile
