Has anyone used MH Joinery Products for Sash Windows?

Just that really www.mhjoineryproducts.plc.uk/about.php

I've just Googled them and am awaiting a call back from their local person.

I know it's frowned upon but I really would like to replace my elderly sash windows with something that looks the same, is wooden but is more practical in terms of function and security. Conservation are a bit stroppy about the idea and would rather I refurb and secondary glaze. The windows have been refurbed by the previous owners. Secondary glazing would look rubbish on the windows as 4 of them are large bays. Would I have to get planning permission?

I have messaged Ventrolla and the Allen's contact is coming to see me this week. They're only down the road too. :)

Good luck. I am ridiculously happy with my new windows and spend way too much time just staring at them Blush

Just had a visit from my local Allen's rep. 2 hours later and I'm exhausted - no hard sell but lots of information! I shall await the quotation.

Another rep coming next Tuesday.

Still 2 companies who have not bothered to contact me even though I have chased.

I've requested a quote from Ventrolla too, so hopefully I will hear from them :)

It's a start. It's crap that not everybody has replied. I do sometimes wonder how companies like that survive.
Its a bit overwhelming as there can be lots of little choices.

Too much technical information for me all in one go - I started to "glaze" over (pardon the pun). :)

I don't follow up with companies I have to chase, especially in the beginning. I'm afraid it's a really bad sign of their professionalism. Obviously, if they have a good reason for being late and they let me know, that's different. But if not, I say no and tell them why.

Ventrolla were great that way. I negotiated their price down too. I don't like haggling, but we ended up with 15% off the original price.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks happyon - that's useful to know. You'd think that companies would be on the phone the same day to book an appointment in wouldn't you. I don't need them to come instantly but just to know that something is booked in is helpful.

Had another chappy come and visit today and Ventrolla are booked in to see me in two weeks time.
