Kitchen refit - quoted £3000+VAT for installation - is this reasonable??

The price includes
-clearing away all old kitchen into a skip (£395)

  • alterations to gas/electrics etc (£350)
  • install units and connect new appliances (£1480)
  • lay laminate flooring (£400)
- tiling splashback around full length of units (£290)

The builder and his team have been recommended, and I trust them, so don't mind if it seems a little bit pricey, but just want to check I'm not getting ripped off. The kitchen itself is reasonably straightforward - 2 sides of a 6x3m room.

Any opinions gratefully received!

Thank you talkin

I must admit I have very little vision when it comes to houses.

TBH rightmove is your friend - go into property porn mode and look closely at the pictures

eg I hate marble worktops and any dark worktops
I'd never thought of bamboo till wandering past a vehy posh shop near here and they had samples

I hate en suites
I hate corner baths
I hate bland walls
I hate net curtains
I love natural light in every room
I love reflections to throw light around
I hate decorating - so aim to get it right first time so it need not be done again for 20 years

with those criteria and the images of some lovely rooms I've visited I was away (gutted the whole house at once!)

I think I will start doing that talkin. And a mate mentioned Pinterest too. I definitely want to do some large chunks of the house in one swoop. Lord, so many decisions!
