What are those things called that go in windows - like large stickers?

They do the job of a net curtain but look better (I think - am I wrong? Are they actually really naff?). So like large blocks of white/opaque on the glass blocking out the room from people like me who can't walk past a window without looking in - what are they? Thanks.

Mine's a listed early Victorian/late Georgian cottage so definitely not naff!

I live in a cardboard box.

Listen PigletJohn, I'll have you know that I once was so engrossed with admiring a house with some very tasteful window film on the windows that I fell over and put a hole in my jeans. Grin

Used some on our back door so I wouldn't be eyeball to eyeball with our neighbour every time I needed to put some recycling out - worked really well.

when I lived in a paper bag, I used to dream of having a cardboard box. Now I've achieved my lifetime ambition.

My forebears lived in a pond.

http://www.windowfilm.co.uk/Content/Upload/Image/Frostbrite%20Window%20Films-24.jpg is the design I had my eye on for my kitchen which overlooks the main road.

Trying to get the Lewis effect www.proformsystems.co.uk/wp-content/gallery/john-lewis-leicester/john-lewis-leicester-12.jpg

The thing is window film is cheap and instant. The worst that can happen is that you have it up a few months until you have got around to blinds or voiles or whatever.

A pond! Luxury. Grin

On the first link my friend had FB003 the one with the tall stylized poppies on the bottom of her bay windows on her terrace house, looks great stops people gawping in and let's in loads of light. We've got the plain frosted in our front door panels to let light into our North facing hall everyone just assumes it's real frosted glass and it works really well and easy to put up.
