Oddest things the vendors took with them?

Just moved into a new house, and found that the vendors took the wheelie bin with them. Now I thought that was rather odd, till I discovered that they also took the pond. I kid you not. When we viewed the house, it had a lovely little fish pond in the garden with goldfish and established plants in. Dd was very taken by it. Well, all that remains is a hole in the ground. Fish, frogs, plants, plastic liner all gone. Shock

Anyone else like to share odd things their vendors have taken with them?

loft ladders Shock

Definitely there when we viewed, not ladders that you put up to access the loft but proper screwed onto the loft floor ladders. Meant that anything we wanted to stash up there had to stay downstairs.

Also a light switch! It was a timer one that made the hall light come on, and they changed it for a normal one. Was just a bit weird.

Our buyers tried to sue us for leaving 4 picture hooks in. And then the toilet flooded the house with poo. Felt a little bit bad til found out he was the local BNP candidate. Now regularly laugh at the image of him cleaning our Jewish/Asian poo off his floors. Never got a penny from us. Karma...

Fizzy - our sellers took the built-in loft ladder too. The fuckers! Ours is a bungalow and they were moving to a house so the bloody thing probably wouldn't fit their new place anyway. 3 years down the line I've still not managed to get up into the loft. DH can hoik himself up from the stepladder but I'm not that agile and I'm scared of heights.

The plumbing under the kitchen sink, which I didn't discover until I'd scrubbed the 2 inches of bacon fat out of the grill pan.

It was my first house. I cried.

I wish the vendors had taken everything from the first house we bought. They left 2 double beds, complete with stained mattresses, various crappy desks and other office furniture, their foul curtains, horrible light fittings, an ancient fridge which cost £50 for the council to take away, used bath sponges & bits of soap (boak), manky toilet brush, stinky carpets and mouldy shower curtain. They also left a note saying that they hoped the stuff they'd left would 'get us started' in our new home!! (they knew we were first time buyers)

We were gutting the house to renovate, so had specifically asked them not to leave anything behind, instead we got at least a full skip load of crap. Probably could have sued but just wanted to get on with things at that point.

mejon as we had builders in for a garage conversion so I got them to cut me a bigger loft hatch and the ladders came attached to the loft hatch itself. It is a massive thing so getting in and out is a doddle.

The loft hatch is this one from B&Q and the builder fitted it for about £80/£100 Big wooden ladder and big hole, none of this pokey smallness.

Could not cope without access to my loft for stashing everything away.

We've left our wormery by mistake, and a leaky toilet- I kid you not it started leaking on the day of the move, DH said he'd look at it but then their removal men were outside so we had to go.

I've just found a candelabra hidden in between some logs in the cellar. Confused

Well I nearly lost out by being lazy

I had left a fire grate in the loft when we moved out as it was too heavy for me to carry and I didnt want to ask anyone for help

Walked into my new front room to see the fireplace gone , I hadnt realised it wasnt fixed !

Jumped in my car and shot round to the old house and said my DS had said he had brought it down but hadnt so could I go and get it , new owner man said let me do it and I had to watch him struggling with it

Luckily I had gone there though as I had also left all my saucepans in the kitchen too ! Still it was a sad divorce move so I was all over the place in my defence !
