Is a triple garage chavvy/nouveau riche?

That's it really...

Dh and I thinking about an extension and I said if we had a triple garage we could have a big master suite, ensuite dressing room etc, whereas a double would be a guest bedroom I think... But dh said a triple garage would look nouveau riche... Would it???

Have fun with the architect, he/she should be able to give you some good options! I love planning building work - so exciting. Wish the same could be said about me and interior design but that is another story!

If you really want a triple garage/the large bedroom upstairs and you think it can be made to look good then go for it, and unless you are planning on selling anytime soon I would think more about what you want and like and how you want to use the space than whether it looks like you are trying too hard or are 'chavvy'. Just make sure you have nice garage doors if there are three of them!

American rather than chavvy

Up and over doors are nice to park cars as they don't get in the way or blow shut.

Otherwise they are a pain, DCs can't do ours to get their bikes. They can do the ordinary door on our 1 1/2 wish garage to get to the freezer.

Also split doors can have windows, even if you decide on frosted glass for stopping people valuing your car, light is lovely.

With a lot of vehicles, I actually think an open-fronted shelter looks more stylish.

OP, as you are worried about style then you most definitely need an Architect

(Not an advert BTW)
