Hi I am looking at moving from Northampton to Lincoln or Nottingham next year.
What area's of Lincoln or Nottingham should I be looking at moving to or should definately avoid?
I have 2 young dc so good schools are a must :)
Sorry if in wrong section, I do not usually come out of chat :o

Met DH at uni in LIncoln, his ex did Criminology! Currently have friend just finishing her PGCE at BG :)
I love Lincoln but we now live in Newark as housing is cheaper, Sleaford 20mins by car, not sure about train connections though. I knew very little about it before we moved here but am so happy with DS1's primary school and local facilities

Fussy I am not planning on moving till this time next year as want to do my access course here and get ready slowly so although I wish I could move now we are being sensible :)
Yorky Newark sounds worth a look at, I may phone the Lincoln University and see if that is the correct criteria tbh as it seems really high.

I'm surprised Lincoln uni have higher entry requirements than notts.

There was an immortal line in The Inbetweeners, " goodbye first rate education, hello university of Lincoln".

I wouldn't say it's that bad but I'd have thought Nottingham. Even Trent, was a better uni. I think Lincoln uni is improving though and of course it all depends on the specific course.

So am I Viva, it is quite sad as I would like to live there for the christmas market
Been speaking to dh since he got in from work and he is pretty much letting me choose, which is awkward as I dont want him to blame me if it all goes wrong Confused :o

The markets shit. Sorry to disappoint you! If you live here you'll go once, then you'll refuse to leave your house the first weekend in dec ever again.

Haha thanks for the warning, I nearly booked a coach trip there for this year and dragged my mum along to it :o

I think if it wasn't so busy it wouldn't be so bad. But it's so crowded you have to shuffle along and it's 20 deep round each stall. 80% of the stalls are tat.

Oh :( tbh my mum's friend from Sleaford said it is too busy and to not take the dc. At least I can strike that reason off my Lincoln list :o

Worth a go just once for the Christmas market, but don't take the DC!

Ok, I may go for the day, would be nice to see my mum and have a break from the dc summer holidays are long!
