Farrow&Ball Modern Emulsion finish can't wipe clean, Help please

We primed & painted w Farrow&Ball 2 wks ago. We used professional painters. We were in the home & we picked up the paint. Prior to painting F&B told me that modern emulsion paint can be wiped clean w/soap & water. I very carefully tried to get off smear to no avail. No paint came off on paper towel. Spoke w/ F&B and they advised to use a magic eraser. It worked but took off some of the paint & u can see where i wiped & it left a water mark This is not estate emulsion. When I called F&B back they said u have to clean the entire wall afterwards for each print or smear, etc. I spoke to an army of people who told me that modern emulsion is easy to wipe up. We used eggshell in the bathrm & that too is having similar problems. I used 4 different colors, so the likelihood of a bad batch or mislabel is very small. My entire 1 flr painted with these paints and the walls can not be wiped down. I asked F&B to come to my home and trouble shoot, but they need to speak w/the General Mgr.who won't be available till Monday. I'm very upset as the painters are coming back on Monday to finish final details.

Has anyone had problems? Any suggestions? I'm very upset and I don't think my kids will keep their mittens on much longer, (just kiddin).

Quite a few professional decorators won't work with F & B. That must say something about the paint. I loved the colours but decided against it because people say it marks very easily.

We too were told F&B paint would wipe clean. We have four young children. It doesn't. So no more F&B in this house!!

But F&B is so expensive! You see it in all the glossy mags! And lots and lots of adverts! Surely that means it must be really good!

My house is almost exclusively F&B but I don't have small children who wipe their hands on the walls.

It still gets a bit mucky though with 3 adults.

My painter persuaded me to try the Johnstone's colour match for a more practical vinyl matt finish which can be touched up. I am very happy with my psuedo F&B shades for my entire house - I have primary aged DC and decided to listen to reason and be practical. Mind you, I am easily pleased - makes a change from a house entirely painted in white/magnolia!

Spoke w F&B. F&B employee advised to wash down the walls w/a magic eraser, it removed paint. F&B is going to pay the cost of paint & labor to re-do wall. Verdict is still out on the rest of the walls. Has anyone painted their walls in eggshell 20% w/good easy wipe results (I would need in entire house)? Thanks so much.

I've tried eggshell and didn't like it. It looks like undercoat to me.

Good news! Glad your persistence paid off! No idea about the eggshell paint on walls.
