Hi
I really do not know Milton Keynes but am looking for nice area there or within the surrounding villages for my sister who is moving back from abroad - can anyone recommend anywhere to start the search for houses?
Thanks :)

I live in Olney. I'm biased but I think it's the best village. Great schools, shops, restaurants and lots of countryside.

Oh and my house is for sale too :)

Hello I live near MK. Agree that Olney is lovely. Other areas with good schools include Cranfield (not amazingly beautiful but OK), within MK - Furzton, Tattenhoe, Emerson Valley, Oxley Park, Westcroft, Two Mile Ash, Loughton, Crownhill are all OK with good secondary schools. There is another OK batch of estates to the South East of the town - Wavendon Gate, Browns Wood, Monkston, Middleton and Broughton are also OK.
There are some beautiful villages between MK and Buckingham/ Aylesbury. Some nice places in and around Leighton Buzzard to.
There are a few MK estates to avoid, feel free to PM me.

I have relatives that live in a little village outside of Towcester. Think its about 10 miles to MK. Gorgeous place, good community, good schools.

Hi, we lived in Woburn Sands for a couple of years when I worked a the OU. - Houses off the main road were very nice, its a lovely villagey feel, good doctors, local shops etc and its near The Stables at Wavendon for a great night out - horse riding at Woburn etc, very nice area. Never quite got to grips with MK itself, loved the roundabouts having 'names' - it is very easy to get round, but when you are used to more conventional towns, it is quite a shock having no visible 'landmarks'!! Good friends lived in Ampthill, which is another lovely town with good schools, about 25 mins to MK.

Woburn, Eversholt, Milton Bryant, Aspley Guise, Little or Great Brickhill, Stewkley, Soulbury, Swanbourne. All good villages within 15-20 mins of central MK

Wicken's lovely - we used to live there, and I found our old house on the market - a bit more than we paid for it! Also Stony Stratford and the villages around Towcester are very attractive.
