My dad was just about to launch what can only be described as 1970`s high gloss nail varnish onto my dd lovely new table and chairs ! You know that really glossy fnish. Apperrently she can put anything on it for ever and it will always be wipeable. Yes but i would have just bought a plastic table to do same thing ! I love wood and like it to look as natural as possible. I thought about a stain as its very light in colour but need to also protect it from crayon and drink spills if possible /
Any recommendations on what to use ?
I waxed our dining table and it built up over the years to a horrid mess so want something i can put on once and be done if such a thing exists !
Many thanks x

Ikea. I put this on DD's chalk board and it has a lovely finish, very easy to apply. I also used it on my oak fire surround and again it gave a lovely finish. You just paint it on.

Dulux floor varnish in natural satinwood finish.
Kept the IKEA table & chair set wipeable & stain free for years.
Simple flat matt finish.

Agree with Happy.

Matt varnish.
