What would you call a light fitting on an arm over a table?

That doesn't make much sense does it?

I have a table, I can't hang a light from the ceiling over it; but I could have an arm or something attached to the wall (high up) over the table

Is that better?

Something like this? Link's mainly to see if we're thinking of the same thing, but they just seem to be described as 'wall lamps' if that helps Smile

KatyMac · 08/02/2012 23:10

Yes ish but it would need to be about 2 foot longer I think with a bit more of a downlighter type thing

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 08/02/2012 23:12

More like this then?

KatyMac · 08/02/2012 23:13

Maybe

The arm doesn't need to be flexible

We are getting closer thanks

Bit cheaper but only goes out 48cm, so too short?

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 08/02/2012 23:28

I was just looking for some of those lamps - we used to do a similar one at work and they always remind me of fishermen Smile Needs to be quite tall though, the bulb end tends to hang quite low (I hope that makes sense!)

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 08/02/2012 23:30

What's the distance between the two walls? There's spotlights that work on taut wires - I'm not sure how long they can be though (and frankly they scare me a little!)

KatyMac · 08/02/2012 23:30

Damn I put returns between each section
"[["
" "
"homepage"
"]]"

OP posts:
KatyMac · 08/02/2012 23:31

I give up - sorry

Wires would decapitate DH at 6' 2 Wink

OP posts:
MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 08/02/2012 23:35

This is what I mean - the wires are 6m long, but it wouldn't work unsupported across too large a gap I'd imagine - it'd droop under its own weight.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 08/02/2012 23:36

Ah x-posted with the decapitated DH issue. I could see that would be a problem...
