Some - the bedroom above ours is definitely the warmest in winter, even though the others all have good radiators. In the winter we often joke that we should put a stove in our room as well.

Hi Im qualified hetas solid fuel engineer. Obv fit logburning multi fuel stoves and open fires etc. For a decent stove costing 7/800, Indian stove hearth 150,or tiled hearth 200 , 904 liner kit if you have chimney 350, if u don't have a chimney it's easily solved and we use twinwall system, basically black 8inch tube black matt that then insulated inside the tube to shut it down to the 5" or 6" needed for stove we would then take vitreous black pipe 5inch off top of stove then onto 45 angle up out the wall then repatching brickwork back with a finishing plate around the pipe, and connect it together up the side of house using metre lengths and brackets to the wall then a Cowell say for example u went for decent pevex 40fs stove.. But pipe then connected to teinwall system up and out with Cowell on top, and stove sat on Indian stone hearth cut too suit or a granite hearth with all materials ie fire boards and labour n signed off be about £2200_£2500, if u wanted a false chimney breast built around the stove so u only see 18inch of 5 inch pipe ur stove and the hearth and want it to look like its sat inside an opening we would use metal stud and track to form ur breat to suit u wether that means u want to rebating in the top half of breast or log stores built within pillar legs then all boarded and skimmed that would be about 2700-2850 but that's just rough idea it's rare it's higher.

For standard log burner and average stove with all materials supplies and labour and knocking out into the chimney then rebuilding and fire boards and beam etc with a 994 liner and suspended Cowell they normally average 1400-1900 but don't go for just anyone it is messing with people's life's if they don't no what theyr doing and don't fit correctly so many rules and regulations. U can source ur self and itl normally cost for two engineers to do the fit using ur materials probably for 400-900 again depending on what was to entail
