Is the share of the freehold split by property size, i.e 1 bedroom flat owns less than 3 bed flat? Then does that same principal apply when splitting costs for the building upkeep, maintenance......?? When the freehold was transferred to us no % were given.

My leasehold 1 bed btl flat I pay less service charge etc than the 2 bed flat downstairs so wondering if it's the same principal?

Thanks

I think you need to see a solicitor this should have been made clear in the information pack given to you by the previous owners I would imagine and if there's a nasty shock awaiting you ie it's spilt 4 ways why weren't you made aware of that before purchasing the flat.

Split 4 ways equally is fine for us tbh as we have a bigger flat, just wanted to know how other share of freehold flats split costs for maintenance, insurance etc? When we bought the % was not specified so assumed it is split equally?

Anyone? Thanks

Nobody will know, it's all down to individual leases, mine would be very different from yours.

Agree with Ishani, you need to check your lease. The solicitor who dealt with the freehold transfer should bloody well have checked this and should know the state of play.
