Have quite a big hallway which at moment is painted a mid beige colour, hasnt been done for 5 years so needs doing now.Have a lovely 2 year old who has left her little handmarks all over it.Love neutral light colours but afraid of it getting grubby quite quickly.
Have cream tiles so anything would match really, any suggestions??

confess I'm a teeny bit scared curious port; care to share any pics?

suburbophobe · 03/04/2011 17:53

Very light blue, as if a summer's day when you step into it! Grin

SpringHeeledJack · 03/04/2011 17:55

ho hum, just as I thought- Filthy Hand Sludge with a touch of Felt Pen Medley

Hmm
GentleOtter · 03/04/2011 18:12

Magnolia which then bursts alarmingly into bright orange when you turn the corner. Shock

I don't know what I was thinking of at the time.

DilysPrice · 03/04/2011 18:18

Dado rail, so two shades of duck egg/air force blue. V happy with it following a previous fern green exercise which I hated.

Halls are definitely tricky.

The magic eraser thingys are made by the same bunch that make Oven Pride.

Hulababy · 03/04/2011 18:52

Well, the were only repainted about 6 months or so ago. We are on three floors and most of our hallways and stairs are internal, so they needed to be a light colour. I give them a wipe if I ever see a mark. guess they;ll need a repaint every couple of years though.

notquitenormal · 03/04/2011 20:57

It's egg yolk yellow with a dark green carpet & mottled green tiles. We inherited the carpet and I didn't do a tester and missjudged how dark the paint would dry Hmm

doormat · 03/04/2011 21:02

our hall stairs and landing are all painted in white

CointreauVersial · 03/04/2011 21:04

Ours is Crown Milk White, but so is the entire house.

MissMarjoribanks · 03/04/2011 21:06

F&B Pink Ground walls, White Tie woodwork, another F&B white ceiling. Laminate (which I hate, but too much hassle to get rid) on the hall floor, a terracotta-ey carpet on the stairs and landing. I was nervous about it when we chose but it is actually lovely.

Can I give another vote for Dulux Diamond Matt. It is more expensive than ordinary matt but is scrubbable and really easy to clean, apparently they use it in a lot of hotels, etc.

I have it in Barley White in the dining room and 2 bedrooms as it is warm but neutral so you can add colour with furnishings and accessories

BikeRunSki · 03/04/2011 21:13

Yellow. Dulux Sunshine. Oak floor.

rockinhippy · 03/04/2011 21:21

Don't ask :( - old bare plaster with the odd bit of spray paint graphiti, its stripped of the old wood chip & ready to go, but still waiting - & waiting - & waiting :( on bathroom remodel before theres any point in doing it - will just get trashed otherwise

I do have plans though - or are they just pipe dreamsConfused

& another here who LOVES the Diamond Matt Paints - DDs grubby paws (DHs & 2 mucky Cats too for that matter) - just sponge away :)

PortBlackSandwitch · 03/04/2011 21:39

Oooh i dunno Jollster - the pics might be a bit dark Wink Grin

randomimposter · 03/04/2011 22:13

aww port were you just joshing and I fell for it Grin

PortBlackSandwitch · 03/04/2011 22:18

No i wasn't - it really is black Grin - will post pics tomorrow to prove it

PortBlackSandwitch · 04/04/2011 08:22

I think i've done it Confused

The walls looks more grey in the pics (it's darker in rl) and i forgot the carpet has bits of red in. Not to everyone's taste i know but we like it Grin

randomimposter · 04/04/2011 09:07

wow port that looks really smart - would never have been brave enough!

BoattoBolivia · 04/04/2011 09:13

Ours is a sunshiny yellow with turquoise picture rail and skirting board, all chosen to match a framed photo of sea and sand around the great barrier reef. Doesn't get much natural light and the colours work well in a 30s house.

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 04/04/2011 09:19

white with lots of finger marks @ kid height - don't recommend...

N1MTB · 04/04/2011 09:41

F&B "Dimity" - off white basically, but slightly pinky so it warms it up a bit (as it's quite dark!). Painted it with slightly sheeny paint (forget the "type") so I could wipe off finger marks and pushchair marks etc quite easily... Not that I actually do very much. Seems to look pretty good though 2 years after painting.

randomimposter · 04/04/2011 09:46

ooo, yes I had Dimity in DS playroom - was lovely.

lucky4 · 04/04/2011 09:53

loving hearing about your halls!sunshine yellow sounds lovely but made a big mistake once with sitting room, totally misjudged how bright it was !The whole room ended up neon..couldnt be bothered to change it but hated it we glowed for a few years! Not brave enough to try again!
