Friend looking for houses sent me this link:

(hope link works!)

Really, do they really think this is how to present a house for sale?

I have never even heard of "shoeburyness"

Ilove the bit in the blurb where it says viewing is essential to fully laugh at appreciate this property

Pinkcushion · 22/03/2011 19:04

Thank you for posting that - I had a great chuckle.

nethunsreject · 22/03/2011 19:05

Holy Moly!

That is a tad cluttered!

WhoWhoWhoWho · 22/03/2011 19:07

Shock oh my!

House doctor would have a field day.

bran - it is a bottle of hair product (bed head).

scurryfunge · 22/03/2011 19:07

I get a tightness in my chest when I see that much clutter Shock

noddyholder · 22/03/2011 19:10

Love that it is their taste and no tv programme or style mag has reached them! Prefer it to laminate floors and brown leather sofas Wink

cyb · 22/03/2011 19:13

That house is hilarious

But makes me twtch

Ciske · 22/03/2011 19:15

LOL at the EA description: "The property is decorated in a charming 'Cottage' style theme throughout."

Somehow 'cottage style charm' isn't what came to chmind when I saw the boy's bedroom with the explosion of hardrock souvenirs.

Ciske · 22/03/2011 19:15

*mind, not chmind!

jonicomelately · 22/03/2011 19:17

Do you think they've 'outgrown' it?

I agree with Noddy - at least it's very clearly someone's home, and someone with a personality of their own!

The kids take after their parents.

LittleCheesyPineappleOne · 22/03/2011 20:06

Dear god, the clutter

bibbitybobbityhat · 22/03/2011 20:09

It looks fine to me. Clean and well loved! They obviously like their possessions and stuff on the walls, but its deffo not trashed.

P.S. Tell your friend that all that stuff disappears on moving day, incase he/she hadn't realised.

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/03/2011 20:12

I would hate to live like that, I can't stand clutter, but the house looks fine tbh, you can see beyond the crap nicknacks.

Where the fuck is Shoeburyness? Grin

scurryfunge · 22/03/2011 20:14

Essex coast, near Sarfend, GOML.

bibbitybobbityhat · 22/03/2011 20:14

Infact, I am rather loving the twin pink washing up bowls Grin

GetOrfMoiLand · 22/03/2011 20:15

Christ, I thought it was up north, sounds like Cumbria to me Grin

lalalonglegs · 22/03/2011 20:37

It's just a house like millions of others that people live in - it looks like the residents enjoy it. There are floorplans so you can get an idea of the room proportions and, in my opinion, the house is in good condition - the roof and exterior look well maintained. Why does it matter if there are a few too many fridge magnets? Who gives a toss what the furniture and bits and bobs are like - guess what, they take those with them when they sell. Hmm

And by the way, I really hope the house doesn't belong to someone who reads this board.

JustKeepSwimming · 22/03/2011 21:26

Of course my friend (& I) realise that the stuff goes on moving day.

However, having bought a flat once where the previous owners had hundreds of pictures on the walls, there is likely to be a lot of hole-filling/replastering needed when all of their pictures come down. Something worth bearing in mind - the flat walls looked like they'd been machine-gunned

Plus, there are lots of borders stuck on the walls - more work to remove than just knick-knacks on a mantlepiece.

And, my point is not about their taste/lifestyle, but about presenting your house for sale, lots of people will not see past the clutter so you are limiting your potential buyers.
