have been told that you canbuy uggs from an australian website for about £60, but does anyone know which websites are good and not a con? TIA

I bought one pair for about 80 quid from an outfit called Snug Australia, which are still going strong on their third winter but smelled of glue and are going wonky at the ankle. They also have rubbish soles which gave me a backache if I wore them too long (irresistible as so warm!).

My new pair is from Kiwi Sheepskins in NZ and they are fab - much sturdier soles and 79 quid delivered. Also they don't have a label on the back of the heel, which I prefer. Lots of people swear by Emus, which are very similar to the pricey Uggs but much cheaper. Depends if you want the ones with the Ugg Australia brand on or not really - a lot of the discount ones with this label on are fakes.

If you order from Oz/NZ keep in mind you might be charged customs in the UK on top - about 8-9 pounds I think, but this depends on whether they spot your package or not.

Have a look at this thread - you'll find lots of tips there.

i bought them from that site and they are fake, wasted £150.00,buying 2 pairs as prezzies for my daughters,i paid with paypal, but as it was out of ebay theres nothing they can do,they said there shutting the site down, but as soon as they have it appeers again,i would never buy on line for uggs again im going to go to a shoe shop,i really should of listend and believed,if its to good to be true, then its a scam.

SillyMillysMummy · 04/01/2010 13:55

only uggaustralia.com is allowed to use 'ugg' in their url, so any sites with 'ugg' in are fake, also there is a list of authorised sellers on their site

Don't know much about Ugg boots in terms of how to tell whether they are genuine or not, but I do know that m and m direct are always advertising them and they have always seemed a reputable company click here for a selection

The only thing is that the ones on offer here are not the standard ones, they are all funny colours etc, but I suppose it depends what you are after.

CocoK · 04/01/2010 21:05

If you want the genuine Ugg Australia branded boots made by Deckers you'll have trouble finding discounted ones that aren't fake.

But if you want sheepskin boots of the same quality without the label, you can halve the price instantly. The factory that supplies Kiwi Sheepskins also supplies Ugg Australia. Personally, I don't want to pay an extra £100 on top just for a label. Have a look here.

thanks, that sites great, not bothered about the name so much as the comfort and quality.

i refuse to pay for the label which alot of people do, emu's are great imo.

taytotayto · 05/01/2010 19:52

uggbootshop.co.uk its free delivery and the prices seem good,. as i have not bought from them i dont know what the service is like though. but i might take a chance and buy the boots im looking at.

CocoK · 05/01/2010 20:37

What a cool website tayto - these look great - proper soles and everything. They are very similar to my Kiwi ones and only about a tenner more expensive.

taytotayto · 05/01/2010 21:11

yum yum, if i had skinny legs and the money id go for them but alas i have neither ha ha

mesobitchy · 07/01/2010 12:50

Office have Just Sheepskin boots for £35 in the sale, I have these, and UGGs and I actually wear these more as I find them more comfy than UGGs ( if that's possible!)
here

mesobitchy · 07/01/2010 12:53

Sorry that was a horrific mess of a post! Hope it made some sort of sense?!

mesobitchy · 07/01/2010 13:01

SillyMillysMummy · 07/01/2010 13:41

oooooo mesobitchy they look great, I have HUGE calves, what are the tops like?

mesobitchy · 07/01/2010 14:20

They are fairly generous on the leg ( more than Uggs imo) you prob need to go a size down in them, as the sizing also seems quite generous. I have been living in mine- won't know what to do when the weather heats up!

wools · 07/01/2010 16:56

Thanks Mesobitchy. Have just ordered a pair in sand. I do have Uggs (genuine ones from the Ugg Australia shop)too but have just put my toe through them and haven't even worn them that much.

SillyMillysMummy · 07/01/2010 17:01

oh bugger, should have ordered them earlier, oos now

mesobitchy · 08/01/2010 08:59

I did that to my last Uggs, wools! Thought I must have super strong toes or something!

Oh SillyMillysMummy that's just typical, sorry
