Bargain: 24 packs of baby wipes for only 2.99, with free postage!

Just found this ebay listing this morning. It says 24 packs of 80 baby wipes for only 2.99, with free postage! The expiry date on the wipes was a few months ago, but we're not eating them! Just thought it was too good to be true - but for 2.99, it's worth risking it, right?!

my 2.99 bargain box arrived with DHL this morning. Fantastic! I think they're possibly more moist than Tesco brand ones which are in date - certainly not dried out at all! A real bargain, since I'm sure postage was more than 2.99!

The poor DHL man just lugged my 3 boxes up the path. Poor bloke, they were really heavy!!

They are slightly smaller, but thicker than my usual brand, and have a lovely subtle fragrance. They hadn't dried out at all.

I have no idea where I'm going to put them all! Can't believe I got the lot for less than £9!!

PoppyIsApain · 19/11/2009 18:24

FFS now they are £6.99, i'd rather have quality than quantity at that price!

Juillet · 19/11/2009 18:33

Thankyou!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 19/11/2009 18:45

PoppyIsApain: Not sure what you mean about quality, as there's absolutely nothing about them that makes them less quality - and I've tried just about every brand of wipes out there. But maybe it's a status symbol to have Pampers or Huggies wipes in the changing bag!

And for what it's worth, even at 6.99 a box, that works at around 29p a pack - not sure you can buy wipes (even value ones, which are far more rubbish) at that price!

In any case, I'm not sure why the hard feelings from several people about posting up a bargain here! Afer all, this is the Promotional codes and vouchers section of Mumsnet - and whilst this isn't a code/voucher, this is the section people go to when they're looking for a bargain! So anyone who doesn't like bargains is free to stay away from this section!

Thanks so much for this thread- mine arrived today-they are fine- not as nice as huggies Pure but at least as good as all the others on the market.

PoppyIsApain · 19/11/2009 19:52

rachelinscotland i actually use morrisons own brand for 99p a pack FWIW, think pampers and huggies are crap, if you have only just ordered them how would you know that they are that good, i didnt agree with previous poster accusing you of advertising your own wipes for sale, but now im not so sure as you have clearly got high thoughts of these wipes and dont like other posters such as myself having an opinion.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 19/11/2009 22:08

poppy: as for how good they are, I was mainly meaning that they were moist and not dried out (as one might expect something that was beyond it's "best before" date to be), and because I've found some brands of wipes to be rather drier than I would have liked. As for how their ingredients/gentle-ness to skin compares, I've no idea, as I've only used a few of them today, after the parcel arrived!

But yeah, everyone is certainly entited to their own opinions!

I just ordered 2 boxes. £6.99 is still cheap me thinks. Asda sells for 50p a pack and although the wipes are ok the packaging is really flimsy and tears easily so they dry out quickly.

FoJo · 20/11/2009 19:25

Mine arrived today and they're brill, packs seem a little small, ie actual area of wipe but apart from that brill. They are really for cleaning/general purpose for me. I'd only just ran out and bought a morrisons 'value pack' the other day and they were 65p or thereabouts. Well doone rachel. I'm sure you're not promoting your own ebay listing, but even if you are, I'm still more than happy.

Narketta · 20/11/2009 19:29

Thanks Rachel, I ordered the 2 boxes for £9.99 last night and they were dispatched today. The seller has wised up though.

The 24 packs that were £2.99 are £7.99 now.

And the one I bought last night for £9.99 are £12.99 today.

Still a bargain though.

littlestar · 20/11/2009 21:26

Mine arrived today (I got them for £2.99). Haven't opened them yet but it was worth 3 quid just for DH to have a good laugh at my thriftiness!!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 20/11/2009 23:00

LOL littlestar ! I think my 2.5yo must have guessed that I didn't pay very much for them, because he emptied about 20 of them into the floor this evening! However, he also took about a dozen from a pack of Lidl ones too! So maybe I should go mopping the floors with all these wipes strung across the "dirty" floors! It's a good think I put the box with remaining 23 packs up on a shelf! Otherwise we could end up with about 1800+ wipes out of packages! I didn't quite think about that when I ordered the box!

I ordered the 2 boxes for £6.99 yesterday when I saw this thread.
Even the prices you say they have put them up to is really cheap, I am glad I didnt miss out on a bargain.
