Child Trust Funds

I am sooo confused about Child Trust Funds. With banking situation, which company would you trust your money/child trust fund savings with??? I am finding it difficult to get information from banks/building societies and websites lack info.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to where they have put their child trust fund or any good websites that do not baffle you.

we have all for of ours in nationwide as they had the higest interest rate. they also have the option of share linked or normal savings. alot of them are share linked but i wasnt prepared to risk their money with them. we put money in monthly but nothing can be removed until they are 16 or 18 (cant remember which). i think money up to something like £30k or £50k is covered in any uk bank so you shouldnt worry about losing it, but i would have a good look if it is share linked as a friend of mine said her dd trust fund is now worth less than when she put it in 5 years ago.
someone on here might work in the industry and know more.
