Carameli · 20/05/2009 10:16

Epsom only had some soft drinks when I was just there. If I had gone in specially I would not have been happy.

SammyK · 20/05/2009 10:28

I'm tempted to go but pplace will probably have been ransacked already.

Lilyloo · 20/05/2009 10:31

They have been given a lot of '125' branded items to sell
Also they are restricting to 5 items per customer so not sure how good it is.

drifterdec10 · 20/05/2009 11:24

It had all gone by the time I got there at 9.55am. But runs tomorrow and Friday.

Website says this:
"The full range of special commemorative products consists of five different jewellery sets, scarves, purses and knickers; cufflinks, ties and socks; leather passport holders and leather luggage tags; tea towels and mugs; bags of retro sweets, cans of retro drink, beach toys, and beach balls.

M&S customers can choose up to five products each and every penny donated will go towards the M&S 125 Charity Challenge, which aims to raise £1.25m for local and regional charities between May and September.

Customers queuing early for Penny Bazaar products will also be given a free peel and reveal card with the chance to win one of 700,000 rewards, including sixteen regional jackpots of £12,500"

Might take my place in the queue with the pensioners tomorrow

Carameli ohh I am in Leatherheas hello neighbour!

I went to this sale and queued for 1 and half hours! The stall looked very inviting with jewellery, wallets, cufflinks etc, but when I got to the front I was swoen to a table with drinks and sweets, that was all that was left. When I pointed to all the goods on the stall I was told that was not available but had to be saved for the sale on Friday.

I was very angry at this as although I do not want to sound ungrateful, the stall enticed a lot of people to queue for over as hour. I got there at 9 am and as everyone was limited to 5 items they should have planned this event better. I predict a backlash in the press tomorrow, which is a shame for M&S as it should have been a great event.

aoifesmama · 20/05/2009 18:39

We arrived at 9am - queue went all the way around the shopping centre. We were told at 9.15am all sold out - think you're right about the backlash...lots of unhappy shoppers in Brent X North London today!

Mspontipine · 21/05/2009 00:09

I got a mug - small - perfect for ds, 2 brooches, (different ones, got silver in them - rather nice) sweets and can of pop - never had ginger beer before. Very odd.

Queued for about half hour with a load of grumbling pensioners! Tried hard to keep up the morale of the queue!

MaggieTulliver · 25/05/2009 21:52

I queued for about 20 mins and got a tea towel, necklace & earrings, frisbee (for kids) and then pre-selected can of drink and ghastly sweets. I liked the 3 things Ipicked though.
