To whom it may concern,

I have received the following codes from the website

www.moneysavingexpert.com

Online supermarket website WaitroseDeliver is offering two sets of codes for new and existing customers.

New customers can get £15 off their first two £75 online shops by entering the code save223 before Monday 23 February, andsave225 before Monday 9 March.

Existing customers can get £15 off their next £75 online shop by using the code save249 before Friday 20 February.

I have placed my order as an existing costumer however it hasn't been accepted.

The only reason i placed the order was because of the incentive of a discount.

I would appreciate if you can get back to me before the deadline to cancel my order.

Best wishes,

NOW THE REPLY FROM OCADO

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your recent e-mail.

I am sorry that you have been unable to use a voucher on your shopping. The voucher you have referred to is from a website that is not affiliated with Ocado and unfortunately, we cannot accept it.

The offers and vouchers that we send to customers are account-specific, so they will only work on the account to which they were originally sent. We therefore cannot honour any promotions this website offers. I would like to assure you that we are aware of this website, but do not endorse it or have any control over its content, which is posted by its users.

If you would like to receive offers and vouchers from Ocado, please log onto www.ocado.com and click on ?Settings? in the top right hand corner of the page; click on ?Marketing communications?, and tick which sorts of communications you would like to receive. Our Marketing department send out offers on a regular basis, so you should receive something soon.

I apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment caused, and hope that you will continue to enjoy shopping with Ocado.

If we can be of any further help, or you have any further comments or suggestions, then please contact us by e-mailing [email protected], or by calling us on 0845 3991122 or 0845 6561234 (8am-11pm Mon to Sat, 12-8pm Sun), seven days a week.

Yours sincerely,

Ocado and WaitroseDeliver are different operations.

Don't understand why you think a WD code should work on the Ocado site.

TheyCallMeStacey · 17/02/2009 22:19

Yep, waitrose deliver is a different company to ocado.

poopscoop · 17/02/2009 22:26

would have been a bit clearer in the response from ocado if they pointed out the difference between the 2 companies. I would not have known that either had it not have been for the 2 replies above

catinthehat1 · 17/02/2009 22:43

Poopscoop: "The voucher you have referred to is from a website that is not affiliated with Ocado ...". Looks clear enough to me.

Sunshinesmith · 17/02/2009 22:50

Cat in the hat - thanks for pointing out... I am contacting Ocado for clarification.

Like Poopscoop I assumed that ocado is the company that delivers waitrose stuff. I wasn't aware that WaitroseDeliver even existed!

Always learning!

I used the WaitroseDeliver voucher with no problems. Ordered £75.10 worth of products, came down to £60.10 with voucher, then they took off multibuys bringing it down to £45.xx (can't remember exact amount). Very pleased.

poopscoop · 18/02/2009 08:24

cat - yes. i can see that, but when you buy waitrose shopping, you expect waitrose codes to go for whoever delivers them.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 18/02/2009 08:44

It did say on the link I had from Martin's site that WaitroseDeliver weren't Ocado. Ocado deliver from a central place WaitroseDeliver is from the store. Tis not Martin's/Ocado's fault if you didn't read it properly.

2pt4kids · 18/02/2009 08:46

Different companies.
If you go to Waitrose deliver website your codes should work

purplemunkey · 18/02/2009 09:17

I'd always be wary of codes etc posted on money saving expert - a lot of the stuff on there is from people who think they've found 'loopholes' or ways of bending the rules, so be prepared for codes not to work ot to get pushback from businesses if tye think you've used it unfairly.

Dropdeadfred · 18/02/2009 09:28

I love Ocado....there always seems to a 'first time customer' Ocado code around for either £10 or £15.

Ocado are a completely separate company to Waitrose.

Sunshinesmith · 18/02/2009 10:16

Argh - yeah, i have now cancelled my order with Ocado and re- ordered with Waitrose Deliver. Easy peasy!

Yes, until yesterday I assumed that Waitrose and Ocado were the same thing but live and learn.

Yes I didn't read it properly!

Hurrah for a £15.00 saving!
