ELC vouchers/ discounts not accepted!

I just went into ELC in mothercare yesterday and was told that you can't pay for good with gift vouchers or use discounts at the moment! They didn't say why. I then went home and tried online and they wouldn't let me either.
Is this a sign of doom and gloom or have they been doing this a while?

it's because it's a concession within Mothercare, rather than a seperate ELC shop. I agree though, it's not made clear.

I have been getting loads of emails from them recently about discounts/sales. I also have a voucher i got in store at christmas which is not useable til february. I am surprised they weren't able to give you a reason why they couldn't accept vouchers.

Interesting - I didn't know concessions didn't accept vouchers.
The girl at the checkout was new - so maybe she didn't know.

I got a brithday club discount code, which wouldn't work online either. Guess it was that, which made me suspicious.
Maybe I'm just putting it all together and getting worried over nothing!

Our local ELC also had a sign on the desk (a couple of weeks ago) saying they don't accept Mothercare vouchers or ELC vouchers. I had no idea they had anything to do with Mothercare!

The ELC (with its own premises) and Mothercare in the Grafton Centre in Cambridge both accepted Gift Cards on the 10th of January.

Our ELC were still accepting discount vouchers last week.

How bizarre - i would say that maybe the assistant was wrong, but i read the sign myself.

Maybe i'll try another one and see what they say.

Glad its not more gloom - phew.
