adams online is doing buy one get one half price plus free delivery on orders over a tenner

I thought Adams had gone bust!!

our adams just closed one day. no warning or anything...

No they haven't gone bust..shame that's what people think...
they have gone into administration and luckily a buyer has been found for some of the stores. Alot have been saved/bought but sadly alot (inc my local one where I used to work and still have people working there who I know) have not been saved so will/have closed..

would we be taaking a risk in ordering stuff from adams on line, if it has gone into administration?

Just wondering, as at the moment the next step from administration is closure.

Imo you are safe ordering stuff online as the store is still in business.
All thats happened (my understanding) is that they have financial probs, they have a buyer who has only bought a % of the stores. afaik onlin won't be affected.

Just to add "all this" happened christmas time. They annouced probs christmas eve (i think) and buyer was sorted new yr.
If there were concerns over the online side I wouldn't have thought they would keep it going..

Going into administration doesn't mean they have gone bust.

just to add, the same happened in 2007. They went into administration and some store were bought and some closed. They continued to trade 2008 without any issues..till dec 08.

I have just bought a lot of stuff from their site in the buy one get one half price deal. If you go to the FAQ bit it explains it all. It says they dont actually charge you any money until they despatch the items. Mine all came fine anyway.

Not sure about sending things back though - they say you will get a refund but...
