I know it wont be everybody's thing but this website has seen turnover rise tenfold since the start of the economic crisis.

Ha ha - the site's on a go-slow. Probably because of all the MNers clicking into it!

mumofdjandbabies · 11/01/2009 16:48

ooh ta

squeaver · 11/01/2009 16:54

I love that they have Fruit Shoots on the home page.

RedtartanLass · 11/01/2009 16:59

lol at Fruit Shoot! 8 bottles for a £1!

it's all rubbsh though, fizzy drinks, cakes, biscuits and pot noodle.

Things like this cause a divide between rich and poor people, with poor people forced to eat lower quality food

RedtartanLass · 11/01/2009 19:07

Good grief nametaken didn't realise that Marmite, tea and coke were the staple diet of the poor.

Divide between rich and poor people

Some of us, rich and poor, are just looking to tighten our belts on extras, such as paying £2 for Marmite instead of £5 but as I said in OP... it wont be everyone's thing!

nametaken has a point though - the cheapest food is usually the worst both quality and health wise - its always crisps, sweets, pop that are on special offers

Tigerlion · 11/01/2009 19:30

Over £5 on postage seems quite steep

chloejessmeg · 11/01/2009 23:27

Most supermarkets charge that for delivery though.

24 bottles of the vitamin coke for £2!!! I have ordered 2 crates. If I knew me and DH def would like it I would order more as we drink a lot of coke and that is so cheap

They do Non food stuff too.

chloejessmeg · 11/01/2009 23:33

Oh my god, just looking at the clearance stuff! It is rediculously cheap!

Has anybody ordered from them before?

littlelamb · 11/01/2009 23:34

Have you seen that a lot of that stuff might be out of date though??

FAQtothefuture · 11/01/2009 23:35

oh yeah I see all the chav in town buying their Twinings Aromatics - Chai - 25g

FAQtothefuture · 11/01/2009 23:37

says they could be past their best before dates, as opposed to "use by" (I always buy stuff based on use by rather the best before (tends to be on the reduced to clear sections at the supermarket

RedtartanLass · 11/01/2009 23:40

I haven't ordered before as I'd never heard of it before today, so will be interested in how chloejessmeg gets on.

Oh dear I shouldn't have started on this till the morning! I was going to bed an hour ago!

They have those packs of dried blackcurrents (100% fruit/fruit juice) for £1 for 20 packs! They are usually nearly that much each in the supermarket! Nice healthy snack!

Also got the Heinz baby gravy stuff. Never used it before as over priced but I will give it a go.

Oh dear, with postage it is going to be over £70!!! Still, would have bought most of it anyway so saves in the long run. Such a shame it doesn't sell Nappies, as that would then completly save me the trip to costco.

TeaSleepFood · 12/01/2009 08:38

Thank you,
sun maid raisins, blackcurrants, marmite - not that unhealthy!

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 12/01/2009 08:42

Interesting! Am I brave enough to use stuff past their best before though? I am notoriously funny about things like that.

Postage does look steep but if you think about it, you aren't going to go to the bother of just ordering a jar of marmite for that are you?

chloejessmeg · 12/01/2009 21:45

I am trying to finish my order but they are trying to charge me £21 for postage!!!! I have ordered quite a bit but no way am I paying that! Maybe it is too heavy? I want to get it sorted today as we are going to Costco tomorrow for Nappies and want to know if I have this order so I know what to buy! The £5 postage I had come to terms with but not £21!!!

chloejessmeg · 12/01/2009 21:53

This website is doing my head in now. I removed a whole load of drinks from my order to get the weight down, yet the price has gone UP (haven't added anything) and the postage has also gone up to £29??? WTF?

BONKERZ · 13/01/2009 00:54

its £5 something per 25kg of stuff, everytime it goes over 25kg they add another £5 something.

chloejessmeg · 13/01/2009 10:23

Yes but it was adding to the cost of the order as well as the postage, even though I was taking items off? I eventually gave up because it kept mutiplying my order. I worked out I actually ordered about £40 worth of stuff but it was charging me for £90 PLUS £29 postage. Might have just been me though. Is a shame as I really wanted the stuff!

MumHadEnough · 18/01/2009 23:12

Such a shame the postage is too expensive, I added a load of stuff and it was £21. To be honest there was nothing that my local poundland don't do.
