I would go to Grannie's Heilan Hame for the name alone!

The only one I have heard of out of that lot is Craig Tara but have no idea what it is like

There is no reviews for Grannies HH but on looking it up have discovered it is Hoseasons. I would go with Hoseasons without a doubt. We have used them before for cottages and they all have been lovely.

GentleOtter · 07/01/2009 17:31

Tummel Valley has seen better days and Grannies Heiland Home is completely shit. Nairn is ok ish but it gets very quite crowded.
I don't know of any of the southern ones.

There are nice little sites eg Coulmore Bay at Kessock (up beside Inverness)

BexieID · 07/01/2009 17:32

Tummel Valley review

Fimbo · 07/01/2009 17:32

That knocks on the head my theory about GHH then!

muggglewump · 07/01/2009 17:33

I went to the Wemyss Bay one, also on a Sun Holiday 3 years ago. It wasn't really my thing but DD (4 at the time) loved it.
It is small but DD was happy just playing in the pool and then seeing the entertainment in the Evening.
I actually wanted to go to Craig Tara but didn't get that.

GentleOtter · 07/01/2009 17:34

Here is a Tummel Valley link here It is ok I suppose but seemed tired last time we were there (ok it was 15 years ago)

BexieID · 07/01/2009 17:34

another

GentleOtter · 07/01/2009 17:36

Grannies Heiland Hame is like a tiny Blackpool and though there is a nice beach the entertainments seem to be electronic game machines, mini showground and noise. It was really noisy.

mumofdjandbabies · 07/01/2009 17:39

ooh right!!! thanks!!!! what is GHH

Also is Craig Tara recommended?

GentleOtter have you been to all three I was thinking of putting in fo.........r

1.Nairn
2.Heilan Hame
3.Tummel

in that order

? whatcha think?

mumofdjandbabies · 07/01/2009 17:40

basically does anyone know of any cracking resorts on the scottish list

OP posts:
GentleOtter · 07/01/2009 17:42

I would go for
1Tummel
2Nairn
3Grannies if I was threatened with a fish

BexieID · 07/01/2009 17:43

Krissy did you read the comments on this link?

GentleOtter · 07/01/2009 17:46

Tummel is quite near to Pitlochry, Dunkeld, Perth so there are lots of things to do or see in those towns plus the scenery there is amazing.

Nairn is ok and you are near Inverness or Forres and Elgin.

Grannies is near Golspie and it is a one street town. They have a good butcher and a rock shop. The countryside round Golspie is pretty though.

BexieID · 07/01/2009 17:47

I would go for:

  1. Nairn (that part of Scotland is lovely, went to Inverness June 2004, so there is plenty to do is the site was crapola).
  2. Grannies (ditto what I said above).
  3. Tummel
4 & 5 parks 182 & 183 as they are not far from Edinburgh
mumofdjandbabies · 07/01/2009 17:47
