Sun £9.50 holidays start tomorrow, anyone had a priority booking form yet?

Hi every year we are sent a priority booking form for the sun holiday deals so that we don't have to collect as many tokens and we can apply online. We haven't received any yet and I was wondering has anybody else received one. Maybe they are not sending them out this year anybody know?

dp just informed me has binned ours

Tortoise · 04/01/2009 21:34

I can't take DS1 out of school for holiday so won't be able to take advantage of sun holidays.

lovelysongbirdie · 04/01/2009 21:36

how much do all the extras like linen work out to?
on average?

saltcod · 04/01/2009 22:03

about £10 for linen, £10 for highchair, £10 for a travel cot - so we always save £30 by bringing those ourselves. You normally have to pay £9.00 odd per person for an entertainment pass.

lovelysongbirdie · 04/01/2009 22:04

thanks what parks are you hopeing to get into?

saltcod · 04/01/2009 22:07

how do you go about using the codes e.g. "band" instead of physical tokens? I can't see anywhere on the priority form or on the online form

Eddas · 04/01/2009 22:21

I've always used the posted form before but will try online this year. It says how to do it in the booklet which comes with the form(the one with all the park details in) basically you need the reference number on the priority booking form mine's 7 digits long then a / and 3 more digits and then all you need is the code words HTH

There's normally a thread on here with all the code words isn't there? or will we post them on this one?

Eddas · 04/01/2009 22:23

and i'm confusued. The form says the tokens are in papers from the 5th(ie tomorrow) but was there one in saturdays? should there be one in NOTW today?

ChippyMinton · 04/01/2009 22:25

was a token in saturday's paper, nothing in notw, downloadable token on sun website.
Codes so far:

BAND LINE

Eddas · 04/01/2009 22:28

thanks CM, have noted them down

hellogoodbye · 04/01/2009 22:29

I have only just seen this. I have never done this before (although did collect most of the tokens once!). Would love to do it but can somebody explain to me how it works?

  • Have I missed out on not having whatever vouchers have already gone out?
  • I don't have a form, how do I get one and do I need one?
  • Is it £9.50 per person? How many people can you take and do you have to pay for children/babies? (under 2's)?
Eddas · 04/01/2009 22:35

you only need 10 tokens(I think) you get a form in the paper, after a few days IIRC. Minimum you have to pay for is 4 people, so i'm going with dh, dd(4) and ds(1) so will in effect pay for the kids. Not sure how it works if there are 4 adults and some kids. It'll say in the paper. It's £9.50 per person, but there are normally extras to pay for, but it does explain this on the form so you own't lose out much if you buy the papers just for the tokens and form and then decide it's not worth it IYSWIM. And also the extras depend where you stay, some parks have more than others, but i'd imagine it very rarely costs just £9.50 per person. not sure how many people you can book at once, but at least 8 as my form has the cost for 4, then 5 up to 8 IYSWIM

i'm sure someone more knowledgable will come along soon!!

Or you could look at the sun website which will probably have the T&C's

Eddas · 04/01/2009 22:36

oh and you're not too late to collect the tokens. they always do too many, something like 14 and you need 10, CM mentioned a downloadable one on the website so that's one without buying a paper!!

Theirmum · 05/01/2009 09:29

Should also say that there is a half term in May which (ours) is in the £9.50p weeks

saltcod · 05/01/2009 11:21

thanks CM - will try applying online this year. Saves the embarassment of having to buy copies of the sun

BexieID · 05/01/2009 13:36

I don't know whether to do this or not, lol. I still don't know whether to goto Silverstone for the F1 either. I might try one for near Edinburgh as i'd like to go there again. I'd also like to spend xmas this year st my parents, so don't want DP using up all his holidays!

carrielou2007 · 05/01/2009 18:05

I quite fancy giving this a go as I saw some of the parks are ones I have been to before (John Fowler in Devon and Cornwall) but I haven't got an online form either (or a printer!).

So if I just buy a paper each day from tomorrow do you think that would be ok?? Surely even if it is 9.50 for dd and 9.50 for myself, get the passes say a tenner each and take our own bedding even if there are a few more 'hidden extra's' surely dd and I could go somewhere for less than a hundred pounds or am I way off mark?

saltcod · 05/01/2009 22:30

Carrielou, you have to pay for a minimum of 4 people, so that's nearly £40 straight up, plus there is a charge of £20 odd for gas/electricity/cleaning. Then entertainment pass charge at most parks of £5 to £10 (under 5's free). But we took all our own food, bedding, cot, highchair & easily managed a 4 day break for under £100, so perfectly do-able

ambercat · 06/01/2009 17:23

Forgot to buy paper today, does anyone have the code word so i can apply online?

Eddas · 06/01/2009 17:36

monday's code - PAGE
tuesday's code - TOWN

These are the words printed on the vouchers which I presume are correct I've never applied online before and plan to this year so please will someone correct me if i'm wrong?!

ambercat · 06/01/2009 17:58

Thanks eddas, i've never done it online either, think you just need 8 words from the tokens and away you go!

mumofdjandbabies · 07/01/2009 14:49

todays word? xx

BexieID · 07/01/2009 15:29

Just looked at the paper and it's MAIN.

mumofdjandbabies · 07/01/2009 15:55

cheers love

how you?

bexie from the noth scotland ones which should i choose?
was there an extra costs spreadsheet paper thing i missed in the sun

BexieID · 07/01/2009 16:43

There are only 3 in the north of Sccotland. They are all Parkdean sites, heres their website. Service charges and clubroom passes are £5.50ppn and £3.50pppb. All 3 look nice, One is basically Inverness, one is just up from there and the other one is Tummel Valley. You are supposed to put 5 choices down. There are 2 parks near Endinburgh if that helps.

I might go for the one in Wymyss Bay, Tummel Valley, Edinburgh ones and one of the Ayr ones.
