I think CPWINT gives you 30% off - I tried this recently, I'm sure that was the code.

bollockbrain · 29/12/2008 20:05

any ideas if these can be used for the european centreparcs?

figleaf · 01/01/2009 19:30

Any updated codes? I had the CPwint one on a card they sent me but didn't use it before it's December 15th expiry date.

Wilkiepedia · 01/01/2009 21:27

The codes I listed as OP were used at beginning of this week BUT they do only apply to certain times of year and definitely NOT school breaks.

stressed2007 · 02/01/2009 16:55

what is the best parc to go to in the UK?

IlanaK · 02/01/2009 16:56

Go to the one nearest to you. They are all similar so there is no point travelling to a different one.

Wilkiepedia · 02/01/2009 17:31

I have heard bad reports about Elveden. Great reports about Longleat. We always go to Sherwood which is fabulous.

IlanaK · 02/01/2009 19:24

We go to Elvedon every year so not sure what bad reports you have heard. We have also been to Longleat. They are much the same except for the enormous hills at Longleat.

mumto2andnomore · 02/01/2009 19:54

Ive heard that Elvedon is too compact and everything is next to the car park ? Sherwood and Longleat both lovely, the kids enjoyed the land train at Longleat.

MrsKrabappel · 02/01/2009 19:56

Do we need our bikes at longleat - tbh is a bit of a hassle transporting.

IlanaK · 02/01/2009 19:57

I suppose it depends what you like. I would certainly not call Elvedon compact, but I really do like the fact that there is one main area with a lot of the facilities there (NOT near the car park!). Longleat was too spread out for my liking, but we did like the land train.

carrielou2007 · 02/01/2009 20:29

We have been to Longleat every year for the past 6 years so know no different. There IS a lot of walking involved, I would defo get bikes though this hill make it a bit tricky. Can't imagine a centre parcs that was not so nice and spread out but it is what you get used to I supose!!

Wilkiepedia · 02/01/2009 21:43

Haven't an opinion as only ever been to Sherwood but quite a few people have said Elvedon a bit run down?

Longleat scenery meant to be beautiful.

Guess it is what you are looking for.

Sherwood is 1 hour from me (perfect) have gone every year since I was 7 (I'm 27 now ) so know it like the back of my hand and love it.

TRACEY6101 · 02/01/2009 23:32

been to whinfell think thats what its called in cumbria and was very disappointed, not very well maintained, had to walk round most the park in darkness as street lamps were out!! cabins were hidious had to have it cleaned again (wee all over the toilet) hair everywhere not even hoovered!! least the sheets were clean, nothing was open overpriced crap food wish i'd gone to a different park as heard better reviews!

TRACEY6101 · 02/01/2009 23:32

20% OFF PPPSLA

wheresthehamster · 02/01/2009 23:35

I love Eleveden and won't hear a bad thing about it.

Apart from the Country Club everything else is in one place, so the family can split up and do different things but you are together IYSWIM

IlanaK · 03/01/2009 09:18

Elvedon has had a revamp this past year. I am going on Monday and we are staying in one of the brand new villas - can't wait!

snuffyp · 03/01/2009 14:22

we went to elvedon before xmas we all loved it getting my husband to book again for xmas it was lovely!

sweetkitty · 03/01/2009 21:22

Just used the SAVECP code and got 35% off a midweek break in May, am soooooo excited (sad emoticon) it will be our first family holiday.

StarlightWonderStarlightBright · 05/01/2009 18:21

Can someone explain to me what Centreparks is REALLY like, and tell me if I would like it?

I can't ride a bike and hate the cold. I have a 25month old and a 16 week old. I love camping in the summer (with 8 jumpers on and a shot of whiskey before bed) and have enjoyed hols with very basic facilities.

TIA

nappyzonehasastroppytoddler · 05/01/2009 18:29

do any of these codes work in school hols?

Wilkiepedia · 06/01/2009 12:41

Starlight. Basically CP is about relaxing. There are little cabins in the wood, which range from basic (comfort) to posh (executive - v expensive)

The best things I love are:

No cars on site, once you have unpacked into accom your car stays in car park for duration
No need to dress up - everyone spends the day wandering around in leisure gear with no make up (ladies obv)
I don't hire bikes, furtherst point at Sherwood is about 20 min walk
You can do as many or as little activities as you like
There are playgrounds for the children and soft play
We sit around drinking coffee, swimming, eating etc

It is just a nice relaxing holiday but people defo either love or hate it.
