Any national rail discount codes? Or anyone an expert at the ticket splitting thing?

I'm trying to book train tickets for ds and I. I read on MSE about ticket splitting but it's taking me ages to go through the possible ticket combinations. The ticket price is a little under £60 and I really don't want to pay that much. Can anyone help?

have you tried thetrainline.com ? Their site is really simple, & it will always give you the prompt to look if 2 singles is cheaper.

I use them every time I book any tickets..including when I book train travel for work.. & they're always the best in my opinion.
