Sorry if theres already a thread,..couldnt find one.

Iv just read about Woolworths is def closing down they couldnt find a buyer,...and theres meant to be a closing down sale from tomorrow,...does anyone know if this is right as someone i spoke to said its just the same as they are doing at the mo with 20% off toys n UP to 50% on other bits....

Seems that the staff haven't been told but there will be a closing down sale tomorrow.

I popped in to get something yesterday and the shelves were pretty bare.

I can't see anything that says they will close tomorrow, just that they are starting a closing down sale and that if a buyer can't be found then the stores will be closed by the end of the month

they closed one near us a month ago. it was, as you can imagine, a bun fight. i was in there all morning, queuing.

I think the website went a few weeks ago, in fact, about the time that it was first anoounced that woolworths was going down the pan. Not sure why as I would have thought this would be an easy way of clearing stock etc. I would spend loads online if there was an online sale but can't face the ques in the shops.

The sale a week or so ago was crap and I actually noticed that some stuff that has been on offer for months, is actually more expensive now then it was when we got it ages ago.
