If you are thinking of buying anything from BLOOMING MARVELLOUS - Don't!!!
We ordered 4 items weeks ago for Christmas presents and are now getting emails telling us that the items are either out of stock or completely unavailable.
This is because they have had big sales and no stock to cope with the response. I am still getting sale leaflets in the post and think it's absolutely outrageous.

oh that is naughty but I do love their stuff. They have shops but only down South, we went to one in Leamington Spa which I think is as far north as they come.

somesunshineplease · 08/12/2008 09:30

I love their stuff too, that's why I ordered ALL our christmas presents from them....

every time i have tried to order something from them in the catalogue that has just come through the door, it has already sold out I do like their stuff but I have given up bothering to buy from them

pamelat · 08/12/2008 09:51

really, I was so wrong! Sorry

Might be worth a trip to Chester, great zoo too!

mel2005 · 08/12/2008 09:57

i have been having trouble with them as well, i am still awaiting my order and i havent been able to get hold of them all weekend, i have spent hours on hold, managed to get them today and they said they will try and find out where my parcel has gone.
the website does really bug me as some of the items on there have been out of stock for months and they are still there.
i will go to the store if i want anything else before xmas.

cheekychopsmum · 08/12/2008 10:58

I have had real trouble with Blooming Marvelous recently. I ordered 3 items back in October. Still haven't received any of them. I've now heard,(after email customer services several times) that 2 of the items are out of stock, and won't be reordered - whilst still showing on website as in stock. The other item I'm still waiting for. I'll never use them again

ja9ladiesdancing · 08/12/2008 12:18

oh dear... was going to put order in today. will be having 2nd thoughts...

They're also shite at processing returns. They took 6 weeks to process mine, and told me after a month that my parcel, worth over £100, must have got lost in the post. They also make you pay postage for returns, which always annoys me.

StarlightWonderStarlightBright · 08/12/2008 18:01

I placed an order on 8th October. Still waiting. Emailed that one item is no longer available. Duno what is going on with the rest.

tibradden · 08/12/2008 21:45

Tried to order for ds first Christmas. Went a bit mad in SEPTEMBER ordering personalised stuff for grandparents plus other presents for nieces and nephews

No delivery by December 10, so rang them, promised delivery right up to 4PM the day before Christmas Eve, by courier etc etc and then nothing. Gave money back after christmas with just a sorry.

Then sil and friend who had first babies did the same last year ignoring my advice, again nothing for both of them.
So lost my custom plus everyone i can possibly tell.

Badpups · 08/12/2008 22:02

I believe they're now owned by an Icelandic company so there's a chance they're in financial difficulties. I've heard this from an independent source so don't know how accurate it is.

Lucky13 · 10/12/2008 18:21

I think its a bit hit and miss really. I'm still waiting for an item to come in from 2 months ago!! Whilst i thought i'd try again with them again on a good offer and it was delivered within 3 days - so not always bed. Seems like you take your chances!!

naomi83 · 11/12/2008 12:00

such a shame. I ordered a lot of my maternity stuff and a few gorge newborn things from them a little over two years ago. The stuff was gorge and customer service was fab.

wahwah1270 · 12/12/2008 10:13

I placed an order on Sunday online, and yesterday i received a letter saying that they did not have my item and had therefore cancelled my order.

Sunshinesmith · 15/12/2008 16:09

Been there myself- they are utterly incompetent when dealing with late deliveries, returns etc...

I call them Blooming dissapointing...

They sent me a Stokke feeding chair with pieces missing, badly packaged..it was obvious to me that this was a return from someone else and they had the cheeck to send it to us.

It took 1 month and a half to finally.... not get a new replacement as they weren't stocking them any more!

I have also noticed that the amount and variety of items stocked have been reduced dramatically in the last 2 years. I bet you they are in trouble!

I will never ever ever ever buy anything else from them.

domesticslattern · 15/12/2008 17:59

They are definitely in trouble- look at the size of their massive discounts.

We ordered one package from them, which arrived very late and was thrown by the courier into the basement well of our house. They didn't leave a card and so why have no idea how long it was there for before DH noticed it one morning when he opened the curtains. I won't order from them again.

nuclear · 21/12/2008 19:56

help does anyone know what is happening???

I ordered something weeks ago and it still has not arrived

their website is down tonight!!!!!

OddEyes · 29/12/2008 19:20

their website is still down and when i called their customer services last week they were unable to follow anything up! Raa!
Can't find anything out, are they in trouble?

LucindaB · 08/01/2009 15:55

I've been chasing an order for over a month, getting increasingly frustrated and have finally bought what I needed somewhere else.

It looks as if they may be in trouble. I found an article that said they are owned by an icelandic company and suggested they are having cash flow problems. It appears their suppliers want cash up front and they are struggling to cope with that. The rumours look pretty bad and I've given up hope of recieveing either my order or my money back.

The piece said that their Chester branch has had to close. That said my local branch seems still to be open as usual.

I would hazard a guess that they are in trouble but trying to negotiate a way through. I should think we'll hear soon if they've pulled through or not...

Sunshinesmith · 08/01/2009 15:59

They are in trouble!

newmumtobe84 · 08/01/2009 18:15

Have heard that they have gone b ust - think they were in trouble for a while and things now look to have come to a head

cece · 08/01/2009 18:19

I heard they had gone bust too. On moneysavingexpert someone was saying a lot of their shops have been closed.

ja9 · 08/01/2009 20:44

this is such a shame... i really loved their stuff
