BARGAINTASTIC If you lovely ladies want to know how to get 5% off what you spend at the checkout at a certain orange supermarket then send me an email to [email protected] I'm sorry to be so elusive, you have my word that this is the real deal.

a bit too cloak and dagger!!

nimble · 16/10/2008 21:27

That's ok, I understand if you don't want to email me. I just don't think I can post the website, however I can't see that there is a problem with sending the link to anyone who asks Its up to you. PS I don't have the tech know how or inclination to spam!

Why can't you post the website?

Hulababy · 16/10/2008 21:33

So log it isn't your own business which you are making money from, I think you may be ok to post.

gothicmama · 16/10/2008 21:33

it's utility warehouse

nimble · 16/10/2008 21:34

I don't think the orange people would like it. They want this offer to attract new customers, not offer a discount to their loyal, profit building customers like you and me. As I say, it works for me, and its up to you. I'm new to all this just used another offer that was posted - I was simply returning the favour. Honest guv.

Ah, apparently it's "The opportunity of a lifetime".

I smell...bull.

hunkermunker · 16/10/2008 21:36

I take it you're being circumspect about posting S S B R_'S on here because they kick off about people who offer discount codes? I know they're not allowed to be posted on MSE.

The offer is genuine - take it as you will. Yes, there is a discount if you recommend UW to friends. Where exactly is the harm in that in the face of economic meltdown. You ladies are harsh.

annh · 16/10/2008 22:39

Nimble, you don't get 5% off, you get 5% cashback against your UTILITY WAREHOUSE bill. Let's see, I'm not a Utility Warehouse customer but if I emailed you for the offer I bet you'd have been happy to sign me up! This is an underhand way of drumming up business for yourself!

ADragonIs4LifeNotJustHalloween · 17/10/2008 08:16

"Yes, there is a discount if you recommend UW to friends. Where exactly is the harm in that in the face of economic meltdown"

Nothing at all but you needed to be honest about it in your original post. pleanty of MNers have done the whole "refer a friend" thing but they're up front about it.

mamamam · 17/10/2008 09:58

You have my apologies - as I say I'm new to this. I consider myself told. All I can say is that I've been really happy with them, they certainly deliver big savings. I was delighted to find some of the other offers posted, maybe I got a bit carried away

annh · 17/10/2008 14:30

Mamamam (not sure if you are the same person as Nimble?), I don't think anyone has a problem with someone starting a thread, saying that they are a distributor for UW, that there are savings to be made, offers on other things etc. and asking if anyone is interested. We all need every penny these days! The objection on this thread was that the OP didn't make it in any way clear what was involved and that you needed to be signed up to UW to benefit from this.

SexyDomesticatedDad · 17/10/2008 14:59

Can't see any issues - looks like you could sign up to say a mobile PAYG service (£8) then never use the SIM card and then pay for the UW card £9.99 and get a 5% discount. Not many cards offer that cash back and looks like its not restricted in anyway!!

SexyDomesticatedDad · 17/10/2008 15:06

Its not 'real cash back' - its credit back to your Utility Warehouse account - so I doubt they would pay you back 'cash' from this if you were in credit. Is the 5% sainsbury saving taken off at the store? If it is then it might still be worth doing.

Bleedodgy · 17/10/2008 15:08

The orange people? Do you mean the Umpa Lumpas?

theirmum · 17/10/2008 15:29

or get an amex card that gives you 5% off everything you buy! so can shop where ever you like!
