Hi all

I'm trying to do my wedding on the cheap!

Attempting to order champagne from sainsbury's 50% off!!!!

But the delivery charge is 5 odd quid!!

Anyone got a delivery code voucher thing??!?!

Thanks

if £5 will break the bank can you get to a sainsbury's to pick it up?

CakeandFineWine · 03/04/2008 21:52

No it wont break the bank
But that is half a bottle of the stuff and as we're spending £130 it begrudges me to pay for delivery and it probably is cheaper than the petrol there and back with parking!
Knowing my luck my local branch which is fairly small won't have any or not enough in either!

Just watching the pennies at the moment and wondering if anyone could help me out please.......

don't know of any codes sorry - wasn't meaning to sound horrid (just re-read my initial response!)

I know on grocery shopping - if you opt for a Thursday slot and the amount is over £70, the delivery is £2.50 - have you checked this out on all the slots?

bellavita · 03/04/2008 22:18

I have just been in to look at Sainsburys and I now assume you are looking at wines by the case? I see that yes the delivery charge is £4.99.

If you go into grocery shopping can you not order the same champagne under this banner and if you do Tue, Wed, Thurs slot it will be on a reduced delivery charge?

I think that Sainsbury's codes are difficult/impossible to get hold of. They send me vouchers that are only redeemable in the shop.

My only suggestion would be what bellavita said - £2.50 delivery where I live on Tue,Wed or Thurs.

p.s. congratulations and have a wondeful wedding. x

have a great wedding we did the same and bought all the wine + champers from sainsburys and just paid corkage at the venue, it saved me loads. make sure the venue dont open all the bottles at once. i bought a quite a few spares and the venue opened everything so i had to give loads of opened bottles away at the end of the evening. we would have kept them for another special day if they hadnt been opened.

sainsburys dont do codes anymore because of people abusing the system. if you are lucky enough to get a promotion it is allocated to your account online. they offered me £10 off a £120 shop but it wasnt a code it will be taken off at checkout.
£5 is probably not much to pay if it saves you having to travel there, load it all up in the trolly, wait in a que, pay and load it in and then out of your car.
i try to shop online because its a nightmare shopping with two toddlers. evertime i do go in store now i think how much easier it is to sit at the computer and shop.
