I like Octopus because I can change my own direct debit in the app. They have a 'crystal ball' prediction tool so I can see what it's likely to cost over the next year and adjust my payments accordingly. I've heard horror stories about other suppliers setting ridiculous direct debits and people having to argue on the phone to try to change them!

I've been with them since February last year and they've been great. If you give them a meter reading then they will issue a bill (I do it on the first of the month ) so no big bills from infrequent billing.

They have a predictor tool with 'crystal ball' mode that predicts how prices will go later in the year. You can plug in different direct debit amounts to see where you would end up in a year. It's easy to change your direct debit date and amount yourself online as well.

Thanks @Okunevo. I have a smart meter so I'm billed monthly and have set up a variable direct debit so it takes the bill amount every month.

Apparently we get the £50 each once my first direct debit goes out.
