To think AirUp might be a waste of money?

My son has badgered me about AirUp water bottles today and I feel like I’m in a corner. He has Christmas money and I’ve just found this voucher code only that gives you 20% off AirUp Water Bottles. Sharing it here in case anyone else is in same situation. Seems ok with discount code, otherwise I wouldn’t do it.

Should I just go for it? Has anyone got an AirUp bottle and found it worthwhile?

I've never heard of them before but just googled and bloody hell that's a lot of money for a water bottle. I can't imagine any kid choosing to spend that much money on one. I'd say though his money his choice - if he wants to spaff his Christmas money on that, let him but don't give him any of your money if there's a shortfall!

ours leaks everywhere…

TiredArse · 31/01/2023 20:34

I refused to buy dc one for Christmas on the basis that they can’t go in the dishwasher. (Also they’re overpriced tat.)

😳😳😳😳

Look I think they’re a pile of crap but DD10 loves hers. There’s definitely been a trend for them at school. I bought one for her birthday because I remember how important joining in is for these trends and I think adults can be a bit tiresome when they rubbish things that kids like.

edwinbear · 31/01/2023 20:37

Everyone at DD's school have them - I bloody wish I'd come up with the idea of a £30 water bottle that comes with a scratch and sniff sticker, that you can only replace from them at £8 a packet when the 'sniff' runs out. Still, DD likes it, ours is OK leak wise, but yes, they are ridiculously over priced - like many fads are I guess.

Hi all

We're just moving this thread over to the promo codes topic!

Gufo · 31/01/2023 20:39

Overpriced tat but DD2 loves hers and saved up for months to get it!

I’ve bought one for my son (and have a code air-up.mention-me.com/m/ol/ty2xq-39010ee38f for 20% off if the other one doesn’t work).

It was a birthday present for my son and he wanted it as apparently “everyone” on his class had one. It was expensive but like a previous poster mentioned I bought it for him as I remember that feeling of wanting to be like everyone else and the desire to fit in. I felt that, combined with an interest in drinking plenty of water, was enough in my books.

Since it arrived I have had a cold so of course it doesn’t work for me so I am still unable to tell you what the fuss is all about. My son however is sold and loves it!

McBoatyFace · 31/01/2023 21:34

Ok, it’s done. Hopefully when it comes it’ll be worth every penny. 🤔
