Skin & Me / Dermatica

I’ve got referral codes for both Skin & Me and Dermatica in case anyone was considering trying them out (and a slightly long winded comparison of the two below).

First and fifth daily Skin & Me doser for only £3.50: https://www.skinandme.com/?promocode=KRISTINB5WRV

25% off first Dermatica order: https://www.dermatica.co.uk/referrer/PJ0DL8

I have spent the bulk of my life on prescription medication for acne. I feel like I’ve tried nearly everything apart from Roaccutane (I was spooked by the potential side effects). My skin has never been clearer than it has been on my skin & me regimen (I’m on 4% azelaic acid, 4% niacinamide, .15% tretinoin).

I’ve also given Dermatica a shot (same exact prescription — though worth noting this was the first bottle Dermatica sent me and it took 3 months on Skin and me to work up to the same Tretinoin %). I really wanted to like Dermatica. One bottle lasted me well over 2 months (I was using one pump per day which is significantly less product than Skin & Me’s daily dose). A skin and me bottle lasts me 1 month. But Dermatica (at the same strength as my current skin & me prescription) somehow dried out my skin and let the breakouts back in.

I’m back on Skin and me and my skin is clearing right back up. I may try Dermatica again and use double the product so that it is a fairer comparison. It may be that more product each evening is what is making skin and me work better, so it is worth a try (even if Dermatica lasts 1 month instead of 2.5, it is still slightly cheaper). But just thought I’d share my experience with both (and referral codes in case people were planning to try either option out).

I haven’t got on all that well with Skin & Me’s moisturiser I should note. It doesn’t seem rich enough for my combination skin. I have better luck with Facetheory (I use their vitamin c wash and moisturiser).

Just adding as I was wrong about the Dermatica code--you get the first month for £2.90 and 25% off the second month with this code www.dermatica.co.uk/referrer/PJ0DL8
