Octopus Code £50 credit

Have just got off the phone from Octopus having spent 25 mins going through my options, and left my chat like I always do thinking how great they are.
Some of the things that have pleased me recently.

  • Less than a minute on hold today.
  • Uk based call centre
  • Really taking the time to understand my fuel usage to help me set a DD amount that worked for me.
  • When I switched my grandmother over they gave the option of paper bills as she is not online.

If anyone is thinking of making the swap I have a code that we can use to each get £50 fuel credit. It’s huge, and I can’t seem to make short clicks links, so feel free to PM me.

@NorthFaceofthelaundrypile - I agree OP they’ve always impressed me, I would use your code but I’m already with them!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/08/2022 12:56

I'm with them already. Slight concerned about their forecast of over £700 for my energy use in October but hopefully nit that high!!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/08/2022 12:57

Meant to say,I particularly like the fact you can change your DD at any time from your phone.

Plumtreebob · 01/08/2022 13:08

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor - and request any credit back easily. Our predictions are also eye wateringly high but are in line with the predictions I’ve seen in the media so I am not sure there is much I can do other than conserve as much energy as possible.

Our useage is well below the last prediction so hopefully it won't be £700!!

Just to say octopus isn’t accepting new customers necessarilye. I tried using someone’s code like OP has offered and octopus clearly said - no switching now, stay where you are. Not sure why tHey are offering codes to existing folk to get others to switch if they won’t actually allow said switch

They were brilliant with my elderly dad who was just about IT-literate but not very confident with online billing etc. Good customer service. The only reason I’m not with them is because I’m on a good deal with Sainsburys which also includes monthly Nectar points.

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 01/08/2022 22:41

59p/Kw for elec and 17p/Kw for gas - that is more than double the current Octopus variable rate which I am on. I am currently paying 27p/Kw for elec and 7p/Kw for gas. I guess that's what the variable rate will be come October, very worrying.

Octopus are brilliant, that's true. Open about pricing, will always refund any credit, offer no end of advice and help. However, my forecast payments were sky-high. I submit a reading every other month. Turns out they didn't check the dates, decided this usage was monthly and did their forecast. (Only mentioning that so others check their own forecast).

Thanks, mine is usually £80, had ungraded to£120 but to jump to over £700 is nonsense.
