Simply Washing

I got mine yesterday (free delivery too), and have done 3 loads with only one tablet in each (it says to use 2), and each load has been perfectly clean..which makes it even better value

The Dish washing tablets have been good too.

I used to use Ecover, but was finding it exoensive, and the bio wasnt great on whites. have now gone back to ariel.

Would you say this stuff was better than ecover? I have seen it in some shops, and wondered about it.

Astrophe · 24/01/2008 23:10

I've never used ecover, but a mate has swapped from ecover to Simply and is happy.

Try this introductory offer on the d/w tabs - half-price - if it's still going!

I've been using both the laundry and the d/w tabs for the best part of 6 months now, and think they are fantastic! (Also they come in a very sturdy box, useful for random storage; and delivery is reliably next day.)

Jenkeywoo · 24/01/2008 23:27

is anyone using the non-bio? how does it cope with tomato sauce etc? At the moment I use Persil small and mighty non-bio and it really does clothes clean so I don't want to invest in this stuff unless I'm sure it works. Great Value though.

WendyWeber · 24/01/2008 23:34

I use the non-bio version of Simply and it certainly seems to wash as least as well as eg Ariel non-bio tablets.

The only caveat as far as I'm concerned is that if you just put the tablet/s into the drum they don't always dissolve properly; I've started putting them into one of the nets you get with eg Persil tablets, and putting that into the bottom of the drum, and it does seem to make a difference.

brimfull · 24/01/2008 23:34

I would say you'd have to use a stain remover as well for serious stains.I find that especially if a 30degree wash.
I use simply as well
Astrophe-interesting that you only use one,do you have hard water?

brimfull · 24/01/2008 23:35

I use a stain remover with alldetergents tbh as have yet to find a non bio that gets bad stains out

Astrophe · 24/01/2008 23:42

We have medium water I think - East Midlands. If I have a really grotty wash I use a single Bio one, otherwise a single non-bio. I do spray a stain spray on anything the kids have spilled tomato sauce or paint on though - I've always done that, regardless of what powder I use.

Just wanted to let you know that in my local Co-OP they are selling this washing powder half price, so down to £1.49 for 30 tablets.

I think this offer runs until the 28.1.08,it seems really nice/smells lovely, but my problem is that it has perfume in it & makes my DS skin worse as he has eczema.

pigsinmud · 27/01/2008 14:10

I don't get on with this stuff at all. The dishwashing product has turned all my glasses streaky - going back to ecover, which never did this. Also, the tablets seem to turn to slush in the dispenser rather than dissolving properly.

WendyWeber · 27/01/2008 14:15

Oh, don't put them in the dispenser, schilke - the outer plastic coating dissolves, hence the gloopy mess. I just put them in the bottom of the dishwasher (have to skip the prewash stages though or it would all be flushed away)

They work fine in mine - just the same as Ecover in fact!

Lulumama · 27/01/2008 14:17

i have just reordered 4 tubs of the dishwasher powder, it is fab !

pigsinmud · 27/01/2008 17:56

Oh - thought you're meant to put it in dispenser I've had other plastic wrapped ones which have gone in dispenser fine. I'll try it on the floor - still not impressed though as my glasses are wrecked.

brimfull · 27/01/2008 18:00

I put them in my dispenser with no problems

Lulumama · 27/01/2008 18:04

i also put them in the dispenser

WendyWeber · 27/01/2008 18:14

If the dispenser is dry when the tablet goes in it's OK - if it's wet though, the plastic will dissolve and stick before the wash cycle comes around.

Anyway it works fine dropped on the floor with the 2 pre-wash cycles (on mine) skipped so it saves water too
