I'm going shoe shopping tomorrow for me and the kids, and am planning to use Schuh's recycling scheme where you can take in any old pair of shoes and get a £5 voucher to put towards a new pair.

Anyway, it got me wondering, do any other high street stores run schemes like this?

Boots have a recycling scheme where you get Advantage Points for recycling some packaging.

Thanks all, I’ll have a look at these. Apparently H&M do one too, you take a bag of old clothes in and get a voucher

Also Turtle Doves have a scheme where you can get a pair of their recycled cashmere gloves in exchange for an old cashmere jumper.

Usually you pay an admin fee of £3 plus postage both ways however at the moment the administration fee is waived and they will give £5 to charity per jumper received.

I’ve just had an email from New Look about their Refashion scheme. Send a bag of clothes in (they provide the bag and feee postage) and they’ll plant a new tree for each bag received.

John Lewis (if you have their card) will take back 5 empty cosmetic items in exchange for a £5 discount in their beauty department.

Thanks, that’s a good one! I just checked and it can be any bottles any brand, including things like shampoo.

I was just looking for info on what to do with empty perfume bottles. Apparently The Perfume Shop will plant a tree for every empty bottle recycled instore and give a 10% voucher off your next purchase. www.theperfumeshop.com/recycling-service
