What does he like?

Does he like cake? I have done a present in the past while I was on a budget, I made a ‘cake voucher’. I printed out a sheet for the recipient with various options to ‘design’ their ideal cake. For example, one section was options such as chocolate cake, Victoria sponge or fruitcake etc, then options for different fillings, toppings etc. Then the recipient can ‘redeem’ the voucher when they like and you make them the cake if their choice.
It’s not much but it went down very well as a gift. Could maybe be used as part of his present?

Difficult without knowing your relationship but personally I'd take a nice home cooked meal, the chance to take some time out and chat. If you're feeling especially nice a massage. The cake idea is great too if you don't bake much bake him a cake I'd have loved this
